Have any episodes of this season THUS FAR can subvert yours top favorite episodes in past 4 seasons? Season 5 until now is good pacing, well-written, light-hearted, funny as much  (except Tank for the Memories and AMW is my meh and least favorite)   but is it enough to COMPETE any amazing episodes in seaon 1, 2, 3 and 4? Tell me your top favorite episodes and which episodes were dethroned by any Season 5 episodes (so far). Let see how these challengerS can stand up to the CHAMPIONS of MLP. BEGIN!!! 

 Here my top favorite episodes in previous 4 season:

1. Pinkie Pride - Status: An unstoppable champion 

2. Lesson Zero - Status: Breakdown ponies always the best

3. Party of One - Status: Best Pinkie episode. Dethroned by... Pinkie Pride 

4. Best Night Ever - Status: Classic is the Best! YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE MEEEE!!! 

5. Sisterhooves Social - Status:   I'm so fabulous. My episodes always in EVERY best episodes list of the WHOLE show.

6. Testing, testing 1,2,3. - Status: RETREAT TO THE Cloudsdale

7.Maud Pie - The unstoppable Rocky Fortress - Status : YOU SHALL NOT PASS THIS GATE ​ 

8. For whom sweetie bell toils - Status: SAFE... FOR NOW. You can sleep well for tonight  :comeatus:

10. Sleepless in Ponyville - Status: Struggling against Bloom and Gloom in the battle of "Best of the Dream Trilogy".

Would you guys like to tell us which your favorites has been dethroned by any season 5 episodes so far? Remember, this thread will end until Season 5 End. Season 5 still have 17 upcoming episodes (include Princess Spike). A new favorite doesn't have to replace an old favorite. You could just add the new favorite to all your previous favorites, building an ever-growing pile of favorites, unless having a "top ten favorites" list of your favorite things is a favorite activity of yours. 

 

My favorites so far from Season 5 are The Cutie Map and Bloom and Gloom.

Can't say it replaced, but The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone was my favorite episode in this season so far, in turn I don't have a top favorite but have best episodes from every seasons.

Tanks for the Memories and Make New Friends But Keep Discord have a strong chance of making my Top 10 once the season's through.  (I don't like to rank until the season's over) Slice of Life ain't got a snowball's chance in Hell on the Top 10 but it might have a chance at the Bottom 10.

Nah, I haven't been enjoying this season much. I like some episodes but they wouldn't even make it in the top 20.

 

The Lose Treasure of Griffonstone, Slice of Life, and Make New Friends But Keep Discord were decent. The rest I don't really care for. And Tanks for the Memories is something too personal for me to enjoy all too much. My favorite episodes of the series are still Pinkie Pride and Party of One.

So far no, most of the season 5 episodes have been either meh, passable but could have been better or outright crappy. So far the only episodes that have impressed me aside from the premier are Lost Tresure of Griffonstone, Slice of Life and Make New Friends but Keep Discord. In fairness though it will take something truly special to dethrone my favorite episode of the series Apple Family Reunion which has quite a bit of emotional significance to me personally, so much so that it managed to dethrone the Return of Harmony two parter which holds some nostalgia points for me for being the two parter that got me into the show and Discord being awesome of course.

New challenger of the Week: Princess Spike

What do he have: a Spike Episode, napkin princess, a lot of unique character, Dog and pony show reference...

 

He is nowhere the best Spike episode (Secret of my Excess) and not even top 30. However, he demanded an honoured duel with Just for Sidekick due to their similarities about responsibility.

30. Just for Sidekick - Status: Pet Caretaker still Better than a dragon Princess. . Just for Sidekick is still the most funnies Spike episode, Princess Spike is too dull to compare to JfS. PS will retreat from now. He still didnt give up being the 5th princess... maybe... someday... he can claim his rightful throne... to be continue...

I liked Slice of Life a lot but I do not have any favourite episodes to start with so my answer is negative.

Prior to this season, my favorites list included 7 episodes (I know, what an odd number) and as Pinkie Pie is my favorite Mane 6 BY FAR, almost all of them were Pinkie-centric, with one exception. However, at this point I currently have 9 favorites, so two episodes from this season are now on my favorites list.

 

1. Party of One (In my opinion, the show has gone nowhere but uphill from Season 1, but no episode has come close to this Season 1 masterpiece for me.)
2. Baby Cakes (I'm like the only person I've met that liked this episode by the way.)
3. Too Many Pinkie Pies (Close tie with Baby Cakes.)
4. Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3 (Prior to Season 5, the only non-Pinkie Pie episode here :okiedokielokie: . Don't ask me how it managed to beat out 3 Pinkie Pie episodes, I can't really explain.)
5. Pinkie Pride (So many songs, Weird Al Yankovich, a pony that can stand up to Pinkie Pie in a goof-off!? Just wow.)

6. Slice of Life (Pure fan-pandering, but executed about as beautifully as fan-pandering can be executed. I was really impressed.)
7. Maud Pie (Awesome to see some relatives of Pinkie's.)

Wow, full of Pinkie episodeS  you surely love Pinkie  , According to the list,  only 2 Episode in ss5 thus far can manage in your favorite list (Remember this thread is about how ss5 episode can dethrone your favorite episode). That's right... Only one episode of 100 have I really particularly disliked. There were some rather bland ones, and some that did (small) things I disagreed with... But nothing on the level of episode 100. It was just that bad.

Nostalgia is a very strong emotion. I am in this fandom since 2011 and i have strong nostalgic feelings towards Season 2, but they really didn't hinder me from enjoying Season 5. I really think Season 1, 2, 4 and 5 are in the same league, while 3 really wasn't good.
