MLP has proven to be entertaining for people of all ages and genders. And some of us older folk like the sexualized ponies. It brings the characters closer to our level of maturity. Some are just horny bastards like me and others do it to be closer to characters they've grown rather attached to. The other half like to sexualise the characters Fan works expand the scope of the show much farther than the creators will ever take it, whether because they have a general idea for how the show should go or because mature content doesn't belong in the official canon. Whether an apocalypse, a family-based drama or just a night of carnal pleasure the fan works allow us to explore the possibilities. Blame the way search engines work, blame how unrestricted some children's access to the internet is, but why should we be denied something we enjoy simply because kids who shouldn't have access to it can still find it by total accident? We can only control our own actions, not those of others. We are not responsible for the carelessness of parents, the curiosity of children or the flaws in search filters. Most of the existing sexual content is only in places where it's allowed anyway. Websites that have restrictions on mature content either have filters to prevent younger folk from accessing it (which don't always work thanks to the inconsistency of search parameters) or remove such content as best they can. The sites that allow it will still have filters in place to restrict access but the search engines, once again, will find a way through it. Not even on purpose either. It's simply in their nature. It's not as if people create such things so kids can find it. They're one of the ones that went too far, and continue to drive themselves deeper into the hole they dug.
