"Won't you be my neighbor?"

-Fred Rogers-

Greetings.
There are two reasons you clicked on this.

One - Boredom

Two - You are really into Mr. Rogers.

In this, we talk about the man who probably helped your life at one point,

or, maybe you just want to post random stuff about Mr. Rogers.
Either way, he loves you no matter what

because he likes you just the way you are.

Mr. Rogers is my hero. He's so good that even Seto Kaiba approves of him!

Have the courage to think and act on your own. And have the courage to disobey.

How has this gone several days with no love!? I was a HUGE Mr Rogers fan. My favorite was the trolley and King Friday and Daniel the tiger. I was never very good at using my imagination (still am not) and so i really enjoyed the make believe kingdom and all the neat things other people think up.

How is this club seriously not getting any attention anymore? Mr. Rogers is the epitome of my childhood, and one of the reasons I really got into reading all those "boring" encyclopedias I could find.

Well good news since this thread was first made and last posted in is that episodes of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood can be viewed on PlutoTV through the channel or it's On-Demand section.

And yes, the same PlutoTV with MLP Rainbow Roadtrip.

"Won't You Be My Neighbor"

It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

It’s a neighborly day in this beauty wood,
A neighborly day for a beauty,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I’ve always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.
So let’s make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we’re together we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won’t you be my neighbor?
Won’t you please,
Won’t you please?
Please won’t you be my neighbor?

Gosh, he was such a wonderful man. I still remember hearing his Senate hearing testimony on PBS funding.

One of the most simple and effective speeches I have ever seen.

Fred Rogers is one of my top ten most beloved and admired heroes. He isn’t some phony out to make a cheap and easy kid’s show, but a genuine and truly good man who wanted kids to have a wholesome quality show that taught good values and was thoroughly entertaining.

@Starlight Serenade I love this clip, and he made such an impact because he really cared and took a personal interest in the interests of kids everywhere.

Incidentally I downloaded the PBS Kids app to watch episodes of their cartoons (Hero Elementary is a recent favorite) and one of the sign-language included episodes of Arthur is where Fred Rogers appeared as himself.  In aardvark form.

There were two eras of this series. The first era ran from 1968 to 1976, and the second from 1979 to 2001.

Only the second era remained on PBS from 1995, when that era was nearing 260 episodes (the most that could air on reruns annually, with occasional exceptions). A total of 300 available episodes were produced, plus the long-gone "Conflict" episodes.

As for the first era, there were 590 episodes of that, with most seasons lasting 65 episodes each, while the last season only had five, and the first one had 130.

Now, the show can be found on Amazon Prime Video and at MisterRogers.org.
