[NULL] 907 August 8, 2015 Share August 8, 2015 Wasn't FiM confirmed for 8 seasons atleast? If thats true, how could they release 2.5 more seasons by 2017? at this rate it will be 2035 before season 6 starts. Not necessarily. That article only confirmed the G4 MLP brand would last for five more years (from 2013). Season 6 will most likely be the last season, with the movie being the grand finale. That should leave a year for Hasbro to sell the rest of their toys and DVDs.
Januaree 38 August 8, 2015 Share August 8, 2015 (edited) Well, I believe it's a little too early to be discussing the possiblity of a series finale or G5. We should just enjoy it while it lasts and don't worry about it until it's confirmed. Edited August 8, 2015 by Januaree
Confucius 194 August 8, 2015 Share August 8, 2015 (edited) If this is true, by the time I can go to cons, gen 4 will be over, RIP life Edited August 8, 2015 by SergeantShy
Rainbow Dash Fan 82 August 9, 2015 Share August 9, 2015 I'd actually hope for them to subcontract out to a japanese animation studio for G5; I'd love to see an anime MLP for G5. When they DO make G5, I'd actually hope it'd be a reboot of FIM, like how each TMNT is a reboot or how Transformers is a reboot. Yes, I definitely agree with a reboot. If this is true, by the time I can go to cons, gen 4 will be over, RIP life Ikr! I haven't been to any cons YET... Please be one in England... PLEASE And together, we will never, be afraid of the dark! GuyNamedEarl 1,332 August 9, 2015 Share August 9, 2015 I'm pretty sure G4 is going to stay around for a while. Unlikeable Pony 2,700 August 9, 2015 Share August 9, 2015 I'm pretty sure G4 is going to stay around for a while. Toys sure, but I wouldn't be too sure about the cartoon and series itself. Six seasons is an INCREDIBLY long time for a series to go on, and ratings have begun to fall for FIM: if the rating continue to fall, Hasbro might decide to pull out and make a new gen. Plus, I keep hearing people say that EQG has begun to outsell ponies, and while I take those claims with a grain of salt, that doesn't bode well for FIM if true. Megas 28,118 August 9, 2015 Share August 9, 2015 >8 seasons LOLWUT? I know its confirmed for SIX seasons, but I've heard NOTHING about 8 seasons. I know they pleadged to continue the toy line for a while, but that doesn't mean new episodes. It'd be NICE to have that much faith put in the show by hasbro though XD I do recall one of the heads of Hasbro saying that he wants G4 to last for more than a decade

Dark Qiviut 22,591 August 9, 2015 Share August 9, 2015 I do recall one of the heads of Hasbro saying that he wants G4 to last for more than a decade As a generation, FIM is slated to last nine years altogether. But the TV show's length is to be determined. Please be one in England... Envy 6,398 August 10, 2015 Share August 10, 2015 (edited) I'm guessing there is 1 generation per decade G1: 1980's G2: 1990's G3: 2000's G4: 2010's G5: 2020's Not really accurate - G1 lasted into the 90s, while G2 went from the late 90s to the early 00s - pretty much stopping right where G3 started in 2003. (although not in the US, as G2 didn't even last that long in the US). From where I'm sitting, it feels like G4 is going to run out of steam before too long. I personally still like the show (just as long as Slice of Life never sees any repeats) but many non-Bronies feel like FiM has lost what made it special and the toyline... Not much better than G3.5. Excited to see what happens with G5 - hopefully it has a more quality toyline that I can want as much as G3s! Edited August 10, 2015 by Envy Everything needs more woodwind!
