Seeing how young Twilight was when she hatched the egg, I'd say she's ~10 years older now (so Spike would be 10).

yeah I know that, I was more trying to figure out of he's a kid or not, and what age they reach maturity. He obviously isn't a teen like the other dragons in that one episode. How long will he stay his size?

I'd say in comparison numerically he'd probably be around 11 or 12 seeing as there was an episode where he was facing more draconic tendencies that (you know the one where he basically turned into godzilla) seeing as he certainly isn't a young child yet he also isn't teenaged. This is also taking into account that when he was hatched by Twilight she was trying to qualify for a gifted school and she was very young at the time to the point where she was having trouble with magic yet when she went to the human world during equestria girls (ugh) she was high-school age... Of course this is just assumptions based off a world of candy colored horses about guessing the age of a young mythical reptilian that was hatched by a comparatively older purple equine.

Personally I think Spike is a year older than the CMC who I presume to be 9-10 (or at least by season 4 onward) thus he would be at least 10-11 possibly 12 somewhere in that ballpark.

I think that Twilight was about 8 when she hatched Spike, and I think she is about 20 currently, so I would say that Spike is around 12 years old at the moment.

Ok so the reason I was asking this is during the Canterlot Wedding Spike says something like "Just wait till you see what I have planned for the Bachelor party" and I was like "who is letting a kid into bachelor party," And then I thought "he is a kid, right?" So that's how I ended up asking the question xD.

I agree with others that SPike is most likely around 10 years old. My theory is that dragons live for a very long time, much longer than ponies, so 10 years is still in the 'baby dragon' category for Spike, hence why we really have not seen any size change with him at all.

Except for Twilight getting her cutie mark was from being startled into releasing massive quantities of magic. She attained princesshood basically from solving a problem a master wizard couldn't with the power of friendship. And that Spike was her assistant basically from when she hatched him... But you know other than those big things...

If Twilight didn't get her cutie mark at the CMC age which is supposed to be when they get it according to the CMC classmates was she to get it when she's fully grown or what. She would get it one way or another based on destiny.

Well you're assuming that gaining a cutie mark is comparable to puberty which if that was the case then most young colts that have their cutie marks before the CMC wouldn't have them yet. I'll just leave it at that because I don't want to go into a big debate over something that we can't really measure based on anything. After all it's a world of candy colored talking horses.

I hypothesized that he was around 10 when the show began, and if my guess that at least three years have passed since then, he'd be 13, give or take a year. I don't think he's literally a baby, at least by our standards. Keep in mind that dragons can live for thousands of years, so what they consider to be a baby is different from what we consider a baby. Let's approach this scientifically, people.

 

As for the question as to Twilight's age when she hatched Spike/got her cutie mark brought up by @@cider float and @@SpikusFyre, I'm guessing 9 years old. I place her as one of the younger of the Mane Six along with Rainbow Dash, as the former was depicted as a magical prodigy and would probably get her cutie mark sooner than others, while the latter more or less rushed her cutie mark. That'd make her 19 when the show started and thus ten years older than Spike. Of course, this is more based on silly head-canon and the instincts of a bored nerd with nothing better to do and less on cold hard facts. I don't know nuttin' about no internships or PhDs.

And despite apparently being in the same grade (or lower) as Rarity when she was a filly, Cheerilee is depicted as an older teacher, and Celestia & Luna, the 1,000 year olds, do not look like Donovan at the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I don't think it's EQG is an accurate depiction of ages. Or anything at all, really.

I'm aware of the puberty thing. I was just saying if cutie marks were comparable to it then the CMC would have a lot more more members specifically of the male variety.

I suppose that could imply the CMC are older than I thought. That could put them to 16 years old.

 

The ponies have been fitted to have human characteristics like being able to talk, having birthdays and use human tools for bucks sake. A very important indication is Sweetie Belle having a birthday at 5 years old. Probably the most straight mention of one's age and she acted and looked like what a 5 year old human child would be like in comparison to their adult counterpart. So in terms of aging it's similar to humans.

I agree with the general opinion here of about 10. I'd also say the CMC are around that 8-10 bracket.
