Hey ponies, I know I put this up in my blog a while back already, but I thought I'd put it up here and ask if anyone had any advice on how I can improve. This is my first effort in making music digitally and I did very little aside from inputting the notes, trying to balance the channel volume and putting a little reverb in.

Thanks in advance for the help! :)

Admittedly, the reverb does sound kind of strange, but in a way that I like. Invokes early records by The Cure. Especially Faith (one of my favorites). Not sure if this counts as critique or not. I guess my opinion is feedback is nice, but go with your instinct. You can't please everybody.

This is a great first attempt at digital music. I feel like the weird metallic sound has less to do with the reverb and more to do with the instrument itself. The raw brass sound is pretty harsh, and also has a delayed effect, which makes it sound quieter when the notes move quickly. You may be able to have it respond quicker by messing with the attack parameter on the instrument. Also, you have decent balance, but I feel like you need more bass in your sound. Messing with the EQ on your master may help with that. Also, It might be worth it to see if there is a way you can change the volume of the channels throughout the song, as this will add more dynamic variety and allow you to bring other instruments to the forefront. All of these things will help to make the music even more interesting.

Keep writing and experimenting with plugins and settings (EQ, compressors, limiters, reverb, automation)- some things just come with experience

Love the chord choice, you end the key melody really nicely. c: However the effects make it a bit awkwardly choppy. This piece would also work great with smoother orchestrals.
