@@Moonlit, Clover smiled at the stranger. "Nice to meet you, Serenade," she replied. "No need to be shy around me, just treat me like you would any other pony. Would you like to borrow my seapony costume I wore a couple of years ago? It has two parts so your wings would fit it; you see, I only became an alicorn this year and it's weird accommodating my wings in dresses and costumes now. But the seapony costume would be fine, and I think it would really suit you."

 

Clover had noticed the sea scent, but assumed it was just perfume. After all, it was a nice smell.

Shadow laughed and took off his shades, revealing his red snake-like eyes. The moon light hit his metal wings, show that he had scale all over his body. He said, with an attempt at a friendly grin,

 

"Don't worry, I can keep secrets really well, Name's Shadow. So what is your pet, if you don't mind me asking?"

"he is a timber wolf. I've never seen a pony like you before, what are you? Some kind of pony-dragon hybrid? Oh sweet celestia how the hell dose that work? Oh sorry forgot what I was saying" redshell said "anyway I'm redshell but you can just call me Red. What is your name?"

"My name is Shadow Beast, and yeah, I'm hybrid. Pleasure to meet you, Red. A timber wolf, interesting."

 

He sighed as he realized the candy, was done. He bit down onto it, producing a spark from it.

 

"It sucks when the candy runs out of it 'shocking' flavor, wish it would last forever."

 

He reached into a portal and pulled out a different piece of candy, this one was a deep shade of blue with black flame on both sides. He stripped the wrapper off, and popped it into his mouth

Blu continued to pet squiggly, "Oh yes. He sure is. Very fascinating indeed." Still holding a large satisfied grin on his face. Blu listens to Sundae as she talks about Bucklyn and the people there with a growing curiosity. "I love to travel, but like your father, I work alot and usually don't have time to travel on my 1 day off a week." Blu explained with a visible disappeared look on his face. "I have been in Ponyville since I graduated In Cloudsdale. I found a calling in the Library and took a job there as the Librarians assistant and It kind of became my career." Blu blushed a little while saying this. "But it's a great job. I love to help people and that's a great way to teach people history and other neat little facts." Blu looked around to see how the festival was going. He sighed to see the band still hadn't shown up yet. Still looking away at the stage, Blu spoke. "I love to travel and see the world as well. I went to Manehatten once and loved traveling ever since. I didn't like the thick crowds all that much, but it was still enjoyable." Blu chuckled as he reminisced.

Shadow this is twig, twig this is shadow" twig growled at shadow "hold on boy it's cool he is with me" twig barked and smelled shadow then leaped onto him and started to lick his face

Late, late, late! 

A door was opened, shut, locked. Keys jangling into her pocket, a unicorn mare began barrelling down the lantern-lit road towards her destination.

I can't believe I'm late to my first Nightmare Night in Ponyville, she thought, cursing herself as her azure braid trailed behind her. She had intended to show up early and help with setup, but after some last-second costume mishaps, she found herself short on time. Soon enough, however, she had arrived at the Ponyville Square, panting for breath.

The decor was already all set up, and a few ponies had shown up and were chatting and enjoying the festivities. There were booths and games and food all around her. The mare looked about.

 

"Blu!" she called, a smile forming on her face. She marched up to the pegasus, shoes clicking against the ground. Well, one shoe was clicking, at least. Amber had decided on a rather peculiar costume for the event--one she had been working to perfect for some time now: A long green boot with sharp talons, a brown sock with a laquered hoof, a belt to which attached two mismatched wings, and a set of horns that looked like they came from two different continents. Put it all together, and you get Discord.

"I'm so sorry I'm late," Amber said, shamefully. She took a brief moment to catch her breath.

"It looks like you have everything all under control, though. It looks fantastic," she added. "Sorry again."

"Wow, Twig is friendly when he want to. I can make portals out of any shadow. I should put my payments away, before I loose it."

 

He opened a portal next the Twig, and let his bag fall in. He said, as dropped off the branch,

 

"If I was expecting to get licked, I would have put it away earlier."

While Blu was talking to Fudge and Sundae Blu hears what he thinks is his name in the distance. His ears tweaked as he looked around to see where the sound came from. He seen in the distance a familiar figure. "Amber?" Blu said to himself as he focused his vision on the figure. His eyes clears and he seen clearly who it was. "Amber!!" Blu shouted. "Fudge, Sundae, I'll be right back. I want yall to meet a friend of mine!"

Blu stretched his wings out and flew over to Amber as fast as he could. He reached Amber a few seconds later and flew a small circle around her before landing. "Wow nice costume Amber! Very crafty. I was worried you weren't going to be able to make it. It's great to see you here!" Blu looked over to Fudge and Sundae and then returned his attention to Amber, "You gotta meet this Filly and foal I met. They are from Bucklyn! They are really nice too."

"We've been in Bucklyn all our lives," Fudge said as Blu continued to pet Squiggly. "We live right across the bridge from Manehattan. We can go there anytime we want."

 

"Ponyville sounds fascinating!" Sundae exclaimed. "Can you tell us more about—"

 

Sundae was cut off when Blu heard a voice calling out to him. The twins watched as Blu excused himself to chat with a unicorn mare. Their eyes widened at her costume and their mouths dropped. She was Discord for Nightmare Night! They were so fascinated by her draconequus getup that they didn't realize Blu was talking about them. They trotted over to Amber in their costumes and joined Blu on either side.

 

"Hi!" they greeted Amber in unison.

"By the way what happened to your wings and legs? I've never seen cybernetics before." Red asked "wait what are you going to do? just what you said? Oh if you are a hybrid then was you ever bullied for the way you looked?" After the last question Redshell had a noticeably angered face "the last thing I said was a promise to kill them all"

"No, wasn't bullied, I lost them to......an accident."

 

He reached into a portal and pulled out a bag. When he opened the bag, a metal scorpion came out, It was as big as his claw. Then it went back in and he closed the bag.

 

"An inventor owed me, so I asked him to make a bag full of those. I already set the stage, I put fog around to hide them but they still make sound. Don't worry, they are just noise makers, won't hurt anypony at the festival."

@@Pripyat Pony, Serenade nods, "Um...sorry." She takes a few deep breaths, and blinks. "I'm not used to dealing with outgoing ponies...and this is my first Nightmare Night. And thank you, I think a costume might be in order." She steps to the side of the Alicorn, and tries to smile.

@@Moonlit, "Sorry if I'm overwhelming you," Clover replied. "I just don't want other ponies to feel as tho they have to treat me a certain way now I'm a Princess. I'm still the same pony I was before."

 

Clover performed a simple spell to bring the seapony costume for Moonlit. "There!," she said, smiling. "That would really suit you!"

"Thanks, it took a lot of time and effort! I'm really sorry I couldn't make in time to help set up," she said again, with a weak smile. Then she turned her attention to the two little ones. They seemed to be staring at her.

 

Sundae was cut off when Blu heard a voice calling out to him. The twins watched as Blu excused himself to chat with a unicorn mare. Their eyes widened at her costume and their mouths dropped. She was Discord for Nightmare Night! They were so fascinated by her draconequus getup that they didn't realize Blu was talking about them. They trotted over to Amber in their costumes and joined Blu on either side.   "Hi!" they greeted Amber in unison.

 

Amber smiled mischievously as she watched the filly and foal react to her costume with such awe. This was her favourite part of Nightmare Night. The mare's grin widened.

 

"Why hello, my little ponies!" she purred, in the best Discord impression she could muster. She lowered her head in a snakelike fashion to look them in the eyes.

"I hope you're ready to have some fun! Nightmare Night is the best night of the year!" She added. Amber reared up dramatically and cackled her very best cackle, which she had been working on for this very occasion. This was just too much fun. The mare landed back on her hooves and winked at the filly.

"Sorry, I couldn't help myself," she said, back in her regular voice.

"Nightmare night. A special time of year, where my best costume, is the one I'm not wearing." 

 

A fox, the size of Princess Celestia, with red eyes & a medium length burgundy mane on her head, looked out on the hill overlooking Ponyville on Everfree's edge. "I've got plenty of time, so let's see what this years festivities have in store." She got up, stretched a little, and then proceed a brisk walk towards Ponyville square.

@@Pripyat Pony, Serenade gulps, "Thanks...and sorry, your not....it's...just, ya know...first Nightmare Night and not used to everything going on." She slumps her shoulders, and brushes a strand of wet mane from her face, and takes a good look at her costume, "Actually...this does look good. Thank You."

Shadow grabbed the bag and flew to Ponyville. He landed in the center and breath fog until it was an inch of black fog. Then He poured 4 iinch scorpions out of the bag, and watched them separate into an inch big scorpions.

 

After he was done, he stuffed the bag into a portal and started smiling and whistling

The twins both held onto one another in fright with Fudge letting out a yelp as Amber pulled off her Discord routine. When she spoke normally, they both started laughing, now only realizing it was all part of the act.

 

"It's okay," Sundae said once their laughter died down. "I don't think that will be the first time we'll get scared tonight. My name's Sundae Shake by the way."

 

"And I'm Fudge Cookie," Fudge introduced himself. "We've never been to Ponyville before."

@@Moonlit, Clover smiled warmly. "You look fantastic!" she said. "Much better than I did in the costume, when I wore it. And Nightmare Night is fantastic, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. If you need any help, you have only to ask. Shall we take a look around? Maybe go talk to some other ponies."

She steps back to allow Clover to move, "And I think that's a good idea, I usually spend Nightmare Night watching the night sky and writing letters to my boss. Who ends up usually telling me off, and that's it's Princess Luna's job not mine to make sure the night sky is correct."

"And what are you two dressed up as?" Amber asked. She looked up and down the pair, who seemed to be covered in feathers, over top of which a sailor uniform was placed. It wasn't anything this mare could recognize right off the bat.

Blu listened and grinned widely while he watched his friend Amber and his new found friends Fudge and Sundae talk and laugh. He reminisced or his times as a young foul on Nightmare Night. His parents would take him from Cloudsdale to Ponyville to be a part of the festivities. He never thought in his wildest dreams he would one day get the honor of organizing the event. He continued to contently listen to the 3 ponies talk and looking around at everypony having a good time.

It was at that moment that Blu noticed a streak going across the sky. "What was that?" Blu thought to himself. "Excuse me for a moment guys" Blu said apologeticly to Amber, Fudge, and Sundae."I think I seen something fly over."

Blu opened his wings, which have been cramping because the costume, stretching them and began to fly straight up in his usual slow flapping manner. "Ahh" Blu sighed, "sure is nice to move my wings for a second. I'm going to have to make some adjustments to this costume for m.... OOF" It was just then as Blu was talking to himself that the streak across the sky ran straight into him.

Blu and the other pegasus fell to the ground in a ball. "Ouch" Blu said as he rubbed his head. "What was that?!" Blu looks around and sees a pegasus in a white sheet standing a few steps away dusting himself off. "Not my best landing ever ay Blu!" The pegasus let out a laugh and extended his hoof to help Blu back on his hooves. Blu finally realizes the pegasus that he seen making that streak through the air was his old friend Silver Wing. "Silver! You finally made it!" Blu embraces Silver and said with a worried look on his face, "I began to think you forgot about me and wasn't coming. And what was with you flying into me like that anyway!" Blu's face went from worried to angry in a flash. Silver let out another laugh, "You try flying with a sheet over your head Blu. I was going to dress up as a wonderbolt, but sooomepony begged me to be the ghost for the ghost dunk." Silver lifts the sheet of his head and grins to Blu, "and forget about you? Please. I would never skip a Nightmare Night." Blu Breeze and Silver Wing began to laugh together. "Oh Silver!" Blu unexpectedly shouted, startling Silver Wing a little. "Yes?" Silver asked with a puzzled look on his face. "Come and meet some of the ponies before you have to go to the dun..." "Amber?!?" Silver shouted Silver dashed over to Amber and the two little ones that where beside her. Blu looked a little confused as he had no idea Silver Wing knew anyone that was here, but trotted over to catch up to Silver.

Priestess made her way through the decorated town. Narrow slit eyes, bats, equine skeletons, and Nightmare Moon posters covered seemingly every building. As she got closer to the town square, the number ponies out and about began to thicken. All of them turned to take a look at her as she started passing buy, looking at the tall fox passing though the herd. 

 

"None of them are screaming or running away this time. That's a good sign."
