Silver Stream. 708 October 26, 2015 Share October 26, 2015 (edited) In past discussions, I've noticed how some people consider the CMC smaller version of their older sisters (I will put Rainbow under this category but rest assured, I'm aware she isn't Scoots real sister). The main CMC character that many seem to only consider a pure version of another is Scootaloo. So I'm curious...how many of you consider them a 2.0 version of the older sisters and how many of you consider them their own character? I personally feel as though all three are their own unique character. Even Scootaloo. At times, I'm genuinely puzzled in how she's like Rainbowdash att all and here's why: Rainbowdash is many things but most would describe her as that moderate egotistical athletic jock with a great heart willing to put aside her own values for her friends. And this is only a broad view of Rainbowdash because I'm aware she's more than this. But Scootaloo isn't like this at all? Do you guys consider her a Rainbowdash 2.0 simply because Rainbowdash is her role model and she's athletic? Scootaloo was never executed carrying high self confidence in her abilities, unlike Rainbow. Rainbow is genuinely aware of her talents and doesn't hesitate to show them off nor does she struggles with self esteem. Scootaloo does....she is seen trying her best to look cool in front of her role model, but we learn that she herself doesn't feel the same way. She's never seemed h*llbent on winning all the time like Rainbow does nor has she had ONE moment where she considers herself superior to her friends when it comes to talents which Rainbow has done quite a few times. She's simply a little filly who has similar interests in being a great athlete like Rainbow and wants to be as cool as her. There are so many kids who shares her desires. Scootaloo is her own person in my opinion. Same for Applebloom. Unlike Applejack, Bloombutt lacks in the patience department and doesn't jump to conclusions on people. Applejacks have been known to follow suit when it comes to jumping to conclusions while Applebloom's curiosity leads her to seeing the shunned in a different light which was executed in both " Bridle Gossip" and "Applaloosa's Most Wanted". But I won't deny they have strong similar qualities like being family oriented and stubborn. But that isn't because "they are exactly the same"....they were raised around the same values and share that inner strength the Apples have carried through generations. Sweetie Bell...well....I don't believe I need to say anything with her. Her and Rarity's differences are as plain as day. But anyways, what do you guys think? These are just my personal opinions on what makes them their own character and how i believe they are more than just smaller versions of our mane 3. I'm aware others might see different and have good reasons to. Yufery 205 October 26, 2015 Share October 26, 2015 I personally agree with you that the CMC are very different from their role models. While yes, they may share similarities to them, it's only because they look up to them and want to be as much like them as possible. 2 I draw fan art (and crossovers) of MLP, Undertale, Gravity Falls, Homestuck, and more! Megas 27,919 October 26, 2015 Share October 26, 2015 No I don't think so, they have similar traits but I also think they're different enough to stand as their own characters
green 331 October 26, 2015 Share October 26, 2015 The crusaders look up to their sisters like they would to their parents (Where are they anyway??). Naturally, they would try to imitate them. But their still different in their own ways.
Gearbox10mm 794 October 26, 2015 Share October 26, 2015 I don't think anyone would be so foolish as to say the CMC are exact clones of their older counterparts. They have their own unique personalities but they do share their respective character types. In a sense they are 2.0 versions of their sisters. AJ and AB are both the level headed member of the group. RD and Scoots are both the tomboy of the group. Rarity and Sweetie are both the girly one of the group. They are clearly different characters but they share the same character tropes.

Numerous times she's made rash decisions along with the rest of them and even when she was first introduced to us, she wasn't level headed or patient enough to accept she didn't have her cutiemark yet. And while Sweetie does have girly moments in attempts to be like her big sister, her real interests clashes with that since she easily accepts any sort of task that involves getting her hooves dirty and not being too interested in high society or girly things. Gearbox10mm 794 October 26, 2015 Share October 26, 2015 They are different and they are alike at the same time. They are counterparts to each other in the same way the 6 ShadowBolts are counterparts to the mane 6 in EQG Friendship Games. They are different characters but they fill the same role. cmarston1 5,960 October 26, 2015 Share October 26, 2015 I have to agree that Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo are all different from their sisters or honorary sister. Especially in the case of Sweetie Belle and Rarity.
cider float 2,539 October 26, 2015 Share October 26, 2015 Scootaloo is a carbon copy of Rainbow Dash. The fact that we have enough Rainbow Dash in our faces than adds a copy of her as a younger format is pretty irritable. Rainbow Dash possesses similar traits of being unsure of herself in front of her idols: The Wonderbolts and Daring Do fangirlism (just like Scootaloo is a fangirl of Rainbow Dash). She wasn't up to believing she could beat Wind Runner's records for instance. Judging by how Rainbow Dash gushes about the Wonderbolts just coming to Ponyville for a demonstration and how she was stalking Daring Do. Even without this detail Scootaloo is just too much like Rainbow Dash in many ways. She's cocky, she doesn't like thinking, she has a one track mind, stubbornness, need to be athletic, tomboyish, always needs to show off.
