gaming KH 2.8 is Kind of a Rip Off

After further examining the new KH 2.8 news, I found a couple of jarring issues that kind of have me scratching my head as to why they are pushing this out instead of just releasing nothing and waiting for KH3 to be done. Honestly this may be Square's most pathetic cash grab that I've ever seen and this is coming from a big fan of the series and someone who bought 1.5 and 2.5 ReMix.

  • Another freakin' cutscene compilation. It's not a game, I am sick of them including these like they are a game. Release that on a freakin' DVD or something.
  • Dream Drop Distance remake. While 3D was a great game and all... It's a handheld game and not VERY long. No news of a final mix version or anything, so it's basically just the same game in HD.
  • Visuals on the Dream Drop Distance aren't exactly very PS4. Since they had to do a full remake of the game as Nomura said, I was kind of disappointed by how poor it looks for a next gen system.
  • 0.2 is basically just an attempt to make the game feel like you're getting more. A needless entry that STATED by Square will be about the length of a SINGLE world from a traditional KH game. Basically... a 15-20 minute game. So in reality, we're only getting 1 remade game and a bonus episode.
  • PS4? Why? I get that it's the current gen now, but why release the one game on PS4 and not bring the first two to PS4?

Honestly, 2.8 should have just been 1.5 and 2.5 brought to the PS4. This is insanely pointless and if they try and charge $40-60 for this, I will just shake my head in annoyance. Really if they wanted to release Dream Drop Distance on the PS4, they should have just did that instead of trying to make it feel like you're getting the same value you got from 1.5 or 2.5.

It seems like the KH 2.8 Prologue is just something SE is making to hold fans over until KHIII finally comes out, like Ground Zeroes was to Phantom Pain(which was also a dumb idea)

DDD was great, but I feel it could have been a stand alone digital title instead of a "collection" released with a demo and another cutscene compilation

Also I agree on the cutscene compilation. Fuck those

Yeah this is getting ridiculous. Square is basically going "Please, we REALLY need money."

I hate it when companies do that!

Also, I only have 2 for the PS2 and Recoded for the DS. Are the others better?

Are they calling KH:DDD a 'remake'? I do agree, it does not look like it was made from the ground up for the PS4... Or even the PS3. It looks like the original remastered in HD. Also probably pulled from a less compressed version. =/

Well, my OST bias probably won't even apply here. Dream Drop Distance already had a beautifully orchestrated OST. I can't imagine they'll redo it.

I'll still buy it, though. I need SOMETHING to tide me on my PS4 until KHIII, and I can't think of anything else. I'm buying it just for KH. Lol.

Yeah, this is getting a bit ridiculous. 2.8, really? Just release DDD as a $10 or $15 downloadable game, that would work best. Also, why is this just on the PS4? I noticed that the first two HD remakes were also Playstation exclusive, despite the fact that KH 3 is coming to Xbox One as well. That seems like an extreme oversight on their part.
