Roleplay Name: The Unwanteds Roleplay

Based on: The book The Unwanteds

Backstory:

The world has turned against this community, in order to prevent enemies from arriving the High Priest Justine erected walls for protection. Now inside of these walls the land of Quill survives and thrives. However not all is well and thus the wanted system was created. The ponies of this land were seperated on how they did with the best and brightest being labeled as wanteds. The next level being the necessaries and below them the unwanteds.

In order to be labeled unwanted you were either useless or you commited an infraction. An infraction was something considered dangerous to the people of Quill such as drawing images or singing. This was outlawed due to the possibility of an uprising and thus people who commited such actions were labeled as unwanted. Every year when people came of age there was the placing ceremony where the wanteds, necessaries, and unwanteds were selected.

Once completed the unwanteds were loaded onto a bus and sent to the death farm. This is a place where the unwanteds were killed by the death farmer. However unknown to the High Priest the death farmer had created a land known to the unwanteds as Artime. This is a land of magic where the unwanteds use their creativity to make beutiful images and other works.

Roleplay basis:

You are a recently labeled unwanted heading to the death farm. You and other ponies sit in the bus waiting for the arrival and for your death.

Rules and Regulations:

1. Normal Rp rules apply so go read those if you haven’t

2. No godmodding, plain and simple however due to the use of magic by most ponies to a degree the unicorns will obviously have slightly more power in more cases.

3. No alicorn OC’s will be accepted, there will be two alicorns in this RP being the leaders of each community

4. Weapons will be relatively older time based, whic means that guns are not part of the world. In the case of magic most will not kill and little will cause major/unreversable harm to the body.

5. Due to the basis of the RP and the fact I am trying to make it pony based instead of a human RP each pony will have a small ability in magic. However due to the basis behind magic unicorns will be much more powerful but other races will have their own perks.

6. Special rules for each pony race:

   1. Unicorns: In the case of this race the magic used will be slightly more potent, however it will generally be specialized. So your pony may perform a spell such as a fire foot music spell really well but be a bad performer.

   2. Pegasus: As a pegasus you can fly, this really is a step above the rest and as such they don’t need much more.

   3. Earth Pony: As an Earth Pony you are stronger than the other races, due to this you will have a resistance to magic and thus are harder to cast spells on.

   4. Other races will be based on their closest relation such as batpony being closest to pegasai.

7. Each character will be specialized in a type of magic, close to like how cutie marks tend to work. However this does not stop them from using other types of magic. For example If a pony specializes in music magic then they wont be quite as good at singing but they will be able to do it.

8. Relationships must be accepted by both parties (be smart about it people and follow global rules)

9. Disputes based on magic within the world if it can not be easily determined will be judged by the GM due to the slight complexity of the background

Characters:

Characters are widely accepted however the background must be changed due to the reasoning behind the roleplay. For the most part all characters will be coming from the same background so while you can add parts that define your character the main thought will be based on the background. Items that go against this will be regarded on a case by case basis by the GM during character accepting.

One of the main parts of the story is the fact that most if not all of the characters are labeled unwanted by the land of Quill. This means they have to have an infraction that they performed. This infraction can be anything that we consider “creative” such as drawing in the dirt or singing. This will work with your ponies best form of magic, so if your cutiemark has something to do with weapons you may have created a weapon that went against the rules of Quill. This will also be the magic you use in Artime the most so in the case mentioned above you will most likely focus on magic such as the fire step (makes your enemys feet feel like they are on fire.)
