The barrier was lifted. For many upon many years, monsters are now free to return to the surface. The miracle all were finally waiting for. To raise up and see the sun for some, for the first time.

 

But where one problem ends; another begins.

 

Mages Preservation Guild, hidden away from the rest of modern society, a cultivation of mages now dubbed Librarians. Magic played the pivotal point in the long war between monsters and humanity. And the final turn in creating the barrier that also sealed away.

 

"He's coming..."

 

Magic played it's role in human politics, seeing the majority in its time that magic should be used freely. Learned by everyone. Yet the fears were wide amongst high mages and fellow scholars alike. Anarchy was rampant. This powerful art would be the end of humanity itself.

 

"He'll unleash it. Destroying what we've worked for."

 

Finally though in a wide spread effort; the collection of wise sorcerers scouted the earth silencing those who freely taught and learned these skills. For the greater good and no matter what the intention of those who used. And the final nailing point by spreading the distaste of magic in the public eye.

 

"But wait. Who are you?"

 

Ahab and Ismael. Two fine examples of the mages guild. Raised at youth to understand and preserve the knowledge. Never to use it. Never to share it. In the name sake of protecting humanity from its own demise. The guild was late in its knowing of the release of the monster race. How? Who? Why?

 

Sent to investigate they trek to the entrance of the abandoned Mount Ebott. It was there Ismael unleashed his resentment against his own kind.

 

"How long was I gone? To finally discover you?"

 

Ahab was struck down. Incinerated by the betrayal of his friend.

Something resonated within what was left of this ancient device. A curious little flower wandered upon it, with malicious intent. The fallen mage left behind only his ashes and of importance to all magic weilders: a knowledge gauntlet. The red texture of its metallic leather design weathered from scorching heat and age.

 

His wide malevolent expression grew as it discovered the remains of the soul of the young mage.

 

More and more hungry the yellow plant threw himself upon it absorbing it. His lust for unimaginable destruction ever so masive.

 

"You can't have it!" The dormant mage awoke. Something else was inside this creature. A lost, innocent soul. Practically screaming for liberty.

 

He reached his hand out to the soul.

Asriel awoke upon the field of flowers he so remembered. He was confused. A mixture of many thoughts swirling into a heap. He heard that new voice.

 

"Looks like we both have desires. You don't know me. I know little of you, Asriel." Ahab spoke within.

 

"If you do me a favor, I'll make sure to keep you this way. I promise." He continued.

 

"I need you to leave the underground. We need to know what is happening I'll explain on your way. I'm unsure how long it's been. And you may not know either. Get going. The world may be in danger." He finished.

 

With the growing motive within you feel DETERMINATION fill your soul!

If you haven't caught on, this is an Undertale based roleplay taking place on the surface world. Currently to be safe this will be only a 1x1 roleplay. The player taking role of the now returned Asriel how must follow the guidance of the mentioned mage Ahab.

 

Perhaps later on, maybe I'll add more positions for roles of other monsters.

 

Notable characters like Frisk, Sans, Toriel etc. Will make cameo appearance later on in the story.

I already know that this is 1x1, but honestly I'm interested in how this RP goes down, and hopefully somehow in the future I can join...considering I haven't really seen an Undertale RP.

Glad I checked the planning section, I think it could be cool if he played a new character that interacts with Asriel or an existing one.

My original plan was to have three players at max but couldn't exactly decide on what characters they should role as. So I decided to play safe and just make it 1 and 1.

 

But I think know may open up for another player.

I perhaps should've mentioned: For the role of Flowey you and I will share the role. In important narrative moments I'll take the role but for majority of situations you shall role him freely. He can interact with Ahab and communicate with Asriel: that's if Ahab allows it.
