In some ways I'm still an anti brony.

 

With all the misanthropy and pony superiority complex quite a few members of this fandom preaches. That all humans are evil scum and need to be converted into ponies in order to be saved from their 'evil' human nature. Blah blah blah humans are destroying the environment and are evil and blah blah blah!

 

I don't care if we are doomed to die on this finite world. Alien ponies coming to Earth to commit 'soft' xenocide on all of humanity makes me angry. I don't care how perfect mary sue their existence is, I still would want no part of it if these are such hegemonizing jerks, who make long, portentous speeches about all humans are evil bastards and are unworthy of life and deserved to be killed without mercy nor pity.  No chance of a middle ground nor peace and love... only death.

 

How many Bronies out there believe just because ponies are live in a much better world than ours give them the right to be total jerks to humans? Does the vast majority of Bronies believe humanity should be treated like dirt beneath the ponies' hooves?

I think you're talking about a specific subset of fans of a certain fanfiction titled "The Conversion Bureau".

 

I never cared about this fanfic, and I think most other bronies feel the same as I do. Your mistake here is thinking this tiny group of fans is representative of the entire fandom.

I haven't encountered people like this either, it kind of defeats the purpose of FiM to condone genocide. Besides, the ponies are representative of humans in the first place, and were created by humans... so I feel like those who'd actually believe in this stuff are a minority.

 

I'm here because the show teaches friendship against the odds and I like the stories it tells and want to make friends... genocide is really not my thing at all. I haven't read the fics you speak of, nor do I intend to. Haven't read Cupcakes either. In fact, I haven't read many fanfics at all, and it will probably stay that way.

 

My point is, I've been around for a few months and this is the first I'm hearing of this, so I doubt the majority of bronies are into this stuff.

People complain about humans being bad and that we're destroying our world and each other..

If you think about it.. they're not complaining that humanity is bad.. They're complaining about

our behavior.. and our actions caused by said behavioral trends..

 

Ponies in MLP as we all know are very kind natured beings (mostly), and their society has never few negative

flaws in it.. Or at least, what we've been shown anyway.. Ponies have dominantly been shown to be gentle

creatures who care for each other with understanding and compassion.. and humans have been dominantly

seen in the good AND bad.. and a lot of people focus on the bad.. The theives, the murderers, the terrorists..

 

The fact remains that MLP ponies and humans share many traits, but in a behavioral, social and cultural sense, they

are indeed very different in their impact on the world and.. and seeing the difference in another species makes you

envious to traits you wish humans had.. and make you think things like "Wouldn't it be nice to have no violence" or

"So much war in this world.. Unlike in this world of (insert name of show).." and stuff like that..

 

But judging humans as a whole is not a true way to judge.. and that can be said for pretty much everything..

The truth, is that individuals and groups are responsible for bad acts, and it's the accumulation of those bad

things that cause issues relating to them.. fact is we're all different.. and we see what's right or wrong..

but that doesn't mean they see the same as you.. The human mind is a complex thing..

 

With your eyes you can see the world.. but your cannot see someone else's..

 

EDIT: The point is.. people complain because it's expressing the desire for change.. to make things better as they see it.. or to dismiss something entirely..

They complain because they know we humans cause a negative impact on our world and compare it so something that shows a better way.. like Equestria..

 

I do not complain (much).. but i am still one of those people who believe that Equestria, if it were real (or if we KNEW it were real), it would be a much better world than our own..

and I wish i were apart of it.. but unfortunately we're here.. However you must consider the broader perspective.. Equestria is a fictional land that contains none of the

really bad things we see in ours.. That's because we have those bad things and our knowledge of those allows the exclusion of them from Equestria's image.. or any other

fictional world we see.. Some worlds are worse than our own, some are better, some remain the same..

 

We live in this one, and create and dream of worlds better than we see ours.. and dream about being apart of it even though we may never reach it..

We feel content that there is a better world out there somewhere.. Even if it's only in our dreams..

Huhwhat? Are you, like, living in some vacuum, or what? Ponies are far worse than humans, as the show portrays them. They are capable of war, just like we've seen in latter episodes. They can kill you just because they suspect you to be not a pony, remember? (Fluttershy's phrase). So, they engage into wars far easier and with more pleasure than any humans. In fact, it's humans who have to teach them how to live properly.

I've been in the fandom for several months, and this is the first time I've heard about bronies supporting genocide, of all things. What the hell? I think it's safe to say that this is a very small minority within the fandom.

 

By the way, hating a subset of the fandom doesn't make you an anti-brony. Hating the entire fandom does.
