Saturn kept walking in the direction he chose. It leads somewhere, it always does. The question is where will it lead. He looked around for any noticeable landmarks that he may remember, so that he could find out where he was. He tapped his helmet and tried to remember how he got here and what happened.

Moonflame hesitated, and then he said, "Its a underground metropolis, it sprawls from under Canterlot, to Nightmare City. Interested? And as for Professor Twilight, no thanks. She's my new host, and I think it would be wise for me to stay with her."

"Emerald, this is for your own good. Silver walked up to the town square, and then stopped. He pulled out a small piece of chalk and tossed it to Emerald. "Draw a circle, and then a diamond in it. Then we will wait." Silver said.

Shadow got out of the seat, stood  on his hind legs and pushed the chair back into the portal. He turned around and said, 

"Okay, and will Twilight be your permanent host or temporary?"

He  grabbed his cloak and reached back into the portal to grab two bags, one much bigger than the other. He dumped the bits into the other bag, tied it off and then said as he pushed it into the portal,

"Ready, let's go."

"Twilight shall be my host until circumstances cause for me to switch, and I'll work with Twilight to be alright, she's a bit shocked and scared, We'll need to use a windstone, a teleport device that are in the old places of Equestria. The nearest one is in the old Palace of the Sun. It will heavily guarded, and very dangerous. You up for it?" Moonflame said, "Now to cover our tracks," Moonflame broke a window, and then stained the carpet with a red substance. "Lets go." 

 

Canterlot police ponies ran towards the station. Moonflame morphed into some clothes, and Twilight appeared. "What has happened to me? Who are you?" asked the frightened professor. She had a black leather jacket, a purple t-shirt, and a pair of jeans, along with some sunglasses. "Where did I get these clothes?" she asked, and she then stopped talking and cocked her head to the side slightly. "Do you hear somepony talking?" 

 

"You're going to explain to her explain everything I told you." said Moonflame, a bit tiredly. "We're almost there."

"Calm down, professor, you have the power of a supernova, we don't want it to fall in the wrong hands or hooves, so for the time being  until circumstances cause a symbiote to switch. until then the symbiote will help you to be alright. We need to get in the palace of the sun to use a windstone."

"What!? I'm just a blank-flank professor! I not powerful!" Twilight exclaimed, shocked. She just followed Shadow to the Palace. 

 

"Shadow, can you open a portal to take us to the palace gardens? We've got some things to do." Moonflame spoke telepathically, and Twilight looked at Shadow. "What's a symbiote? I've never heard of such a thing." Asked Twilight.

Shadow said as he walk into an alley,

"It's kinda like a parasite, not harmful, in fact just the opposite, this one is helpful. One thing about my portals, it might make you feel nauseous, but it's like a 1/10th chance of that happening."

He opened a portal under Twilight and himself and they begun to sink into the portal

"A helpful parasite? You're delusional. And where is the said parasite?" Twilight said rather doubtfully. "Is it sentient?" as she sank into the portal, "Um... Is it safe? Can it read my mind?"

 

"Shadow, I swear... I'm gonna kill this mare. I can't access her mind. She needs to calm down. Then... my personality will start affect her, and her affect mine... somewhat." Moonflame spoke.

Shadow sighed and said,

"Twilight, ya have to calm down, it's safe, it won't harm you in any way. I think it's possible to read the mind, but it also speaks telepathically, If you calm down it might speak to you."

Shadow thought as their heads sank,  if she doesn't calm down when we get to the garden,  I wonder if I knock her out she'll calm down

Nerlate looked around and an idea popped up in his head, 'a great way to ruin a country is destroying it from the inside, right? What if i destroy it... from EVERYWHERE?!' he got a bit excited at the end there and his form seemed to glitch for a brief second increasing his magic and it's pressure thousands fold, but only for a split second before he regained control. Knowing guards would show up he blitzed away with a lightning element crystal to the other part of the town, this part of town wasn't as dirty. It was one of the wealthier districts apparently. He went in an alley and found himself alone.

 

Alone in the alley he knew the perfect way to do this, why not swap position with one of his alternative selves for a minute or two? He checked if anyone of them were available and a list popped up in his head. The list had about two thousand ponies which next to their name was a red icon with the words busy under and countless others had ones like dead, danger, inter-dimensional, dimensional being, god, demon, devil. But one in importance always shined through the other ones, it was that him. The original a being so evil, so cruel he split his entire dimension and made himself a god of a twisted realm, after that he created what he called infections. His name ironically was Sundance the Sole-Balancer. Nerlate decided to ask Peachplum, nothing was important about her except her title in her world 'Indestructible Shadow' apparently she was able to control her shadows and those of other people to protect her or attack... Seemed familiar, ofcourse she wouldn't be able use said power but she could still be useful due to her unique magic knowledge.

 

So, he opened up the 'chat' box which was more like a telepathy between dimensions for them. They started talking about some old times before getting to the main event ''So, you want me to do what? Nerlate sweetie?'' Nerlate didn't get disturbed by how she acted ''You know i and you are the same person.'' he said back with her responding quickly ''Oh, don't be like that Nerlate! Just tell me what you wanted me to do'' Nerlate got a bit annoyed at the way she was acting like always ''I ask of you, to simply cause chaos'' shortly after this he got a reply from Peachplum ''Oh my, Nerlate. Aren't you supposed to be 'protecting' that world. That was what you said when you asked Essence to save that village. That was pretty fun to hear. From someone who even among us is a special existance.'' He could hear her giggle after this ''That was an old part of me. I am now Nerlate, one who protects what he calls home'' soon after this a bright shine engulfed the alley and a brown-orange pony with orange hair and a horn... But also with a cutie mark of a cycle ''Nerlate dear, why do you always pick these dumps to contact me?'' a loud crash was heard in the telepathic connection as Nerlate had tripped on something ''I do think there is no worse dump than the room you own Peachplum'' Nerlate then felt a stinging pain in his cheek from the thin air ''Oh, don't be so mean. I've already loaded my room with traps and various lovely magic spells'' Nerlate sighed and sat down in the mess that was Peachplum's room in the royal academy's dorms, but now back to the world in which we place our story where Peachplum had walked out of the alley catching other people's attention ''What? Haven't you ever seen a lady before?'' she arrogantly said to them before continuing down the road to find a suitable place.

 

(Darkhaert, I do believe that Nightmare will be alerted of Nerlate vanishing and Peachplum taking his space in the world temporarily. Although it would be hard to pinpoint her location. Oh and this is if she can 'sense' magic... And sorry for the long post... But i guess this better explains his ability in a practical way and how he first was born...)

"Take us straight to Avalon, one of the floating cities in the Slant. There, there will be no Nightmare Moon, and her indoctrination will be useless without a master, and it will deteriorate. The portal is now active, now just to find the windstone..." Silver said. Then the fountain started to revolve, parts of the masonry moving around. They levitated above the once fountain. "This is a very good one, still intact. Swirlybird, c'mon, we've got to go.

 

Several of the Nightmare Guard started towards them. "Captain Emerald! What's going on!?" They called.

 

"Step on! Now!"

Sliver passed thorugh the portal, Emerald took a step without looking then stopped No I won't go help me guards HELP! GET IN THE PORTAL! NO! This was the strongest Starswirl had felt Emerald at she was fighting him with all the might she could muster, attempting to take control back, she did for a moment "Guards tackle me to the ground that is an ORDER NOW!" The guards ran towards Emerald they will stop you, they will stop you, fool NOT ON MY WATCH! No STOP! With that Emerald flung herself through the portal it collapsing behind her.

White. There was white, and then the air being knocked out of your lungs as you slammed into something made of stone. The wire faded back into color, and a floating city laid ahead. Silver Blade looked at Emerald, "You're here until we say otherwise. It's for your own good. Besides, you'll get to meet new ponies! Experience a whole new place! Emerald, how you holding up? I'm taking this is your first time using a windstone?"

"Shadow, I think knocking her out was the best course of action." Moonflame replied, "Man... She's lonely. You should get some friends." Moonflame started to talk to his host, though he was speaking aloud. Then Moonflame's horn lighted up, sending a signal. "That should let Nerlate know that we need him... or whatever he is. Hmmm..." Moonflame found a bench to sit on, however, unlike most ponies, he sat down upon it like Lyra was known to do. "We'll wait for Nerlate, he should have no problems with the guards out front."

Emerald was gasping for air for a full few minutes, can I please have my body back now? Only if you behave yes. She then got up and coughed rather hard. She then looked at Silver, "where am I? What is this place?" Emerald just sat down and stared at where she was it was so different from where she had just been.

Avalon, is that floating city over there, and before you ask, no, I won't activate the windstone to take you home." Silver Blade stood up, and pulled his cloak over his head. He adjusted his sword which was strapped to his back. "We should probably get moving. Animals here aren't to kind to ponies."

"Do we really have to wait, I can probably take out the guards without a problem."

He opened a portal and pulled out his scythe. He placed the scythe near him, pulled out a dragon scale bottle and took a few gulps.

"Yes, that's why I chose Avalon as our first stop in this little venture," Silver Blade said, "Last time, the Hellbringer had started removing those indoctrinating mindset in our dear Emerald, and she's in Avalon today." Silver Blade landed on a platform outside the city, "Now do realize that this isn't a floating island, some of the sidewalk even falls apart, crashing to down below, so do be careful. We're going to head to the market. I've been saving some money for you Emerald, time to get rid of that ridiculous Nightmare Guard armor. Something more pegasus-friendly at least. And a proper blade as well."

Swirlybird here will keep an eye on you while I find the Hellbringer to help you with recovering from your... indoctrination, I've got a friend known as the Hood. He's not the nicest to most ponies, but he'll be alright to you, considering you're a wraith. He also sells some armor. Now go on! Enjoy yourself!"

"Ok then we'll look around then Silver." I don't want any new armour what is wrong with is? It represents something that is not you Emerald, so we are going to pick something else for you but you can pick anything you want. You both are treating my like a philly! Because you are acting like one. Oh Nightmare is going to enjoy make both of you suffer for all this. Please Em just look at the armour sets here will you? 

 

Emerald walked along the stall inspecting all the sets Emerald would tell Starswirl to stop at certain sets, but then wave them off until the last one covered in a dust cloth. "what is that?" the cloth was taken off to reveal an old set of earth pony Solar armour, "that is old Solar armour from before the fall of Celestia." "interesting." I can't believe my eyes these were all melted down into scrap, none of these should still exist...Oh Celestia...Emerald? She was so good for the land...Em? No, no she is gone and Nightmare rules. I think we have a winner. This is just as bad as the rest of this from an age that no longer exists.

"That? You can have it. It'll need some upkeep, the front gauntlets had been lost, and the helmet is melted down. I was going to melt it, but by all means, you can have it." The vendor said.

 

Silver reappeared, and bought the armor. "You'll need to make some modifications... At least for more mobility and such. Let's go. She'll see you." As Silver Blade guided Emerald to the Hellbringer. "You were part of the Solar Guard. Weren't you?"
