searching Tabletop RPG searching

So there are a list of tabletop games that I have been over and back again, some of them fan game or official licensed material. I really am chomping at the bit to play any of these games but the problem is none of the people I play with are the least bit interested in any of these so I was wondering if anypony here is willing to answer the call of being the DM and other players. I could be co-DM if it would help. If any are interested just from the sound of them or better yet, have also been wanting to play these games, feel free to express interest.

 

-Street Fighter: the Storytelling Game

 

-Pokemon Tabletop United

 

-Serenity/Firefly

 

-Shadowrun

 

-Scion

 

-Star Wars the Roleplaying Game

 

-Any superhero RPG especially if it's set in the Marvel universe. (And I do mean the comics.)

I'm not sure if I want to DM, since I have no experience playing tabletop RPGs but I'd be willing to be a player for Star Wars, Shadowrun or either of the two below (I know you didn't list them but at the very least someone might look them up and find they like them):

Ugh Eclipse Phase.   Nothing against you or the game as a whole, but the community surrounding that game and I had a falling out so if our eventual DM does end up wanting to play that and only that, I'll be out of my own started RP thread.

I've heard people say similar things about other games. Maybe I don't understand because I've never played but wouldn't you be able to find another group and play with them? Or is it that the experience just ruined the game for you?

Oh it wasn't the groups, although not exactly a great one, it was the forum community that insulted me both as a person and thought my interpretations of the setting lore and the stuff I wanted to do with it was not in line with what they thought the game was about.

 

Which, as a tabletop RPG, it is by nature a modular setting where tone, theme, and moral alignment can be up to the players and GM.

Ah I can see then doing that. I would assume most Eclipse Phase players are big into Transhumanism and The Singularity. In my experience people get pretty heated and passionate about those topics. If you tried to go against the general flow I could see them trying to chew your head off for it.

Well actually quite the opposite, it was there more current, Earthly, material, and decidedly human politics and cynicism that was the cause of the friction. One of the things I was berated for was my belief that the Singularity would allow us as transhumanity to beat X-threats, and I do mean defeat not just skirt around or survive against.

 

As a transhumanist myself, it was those elements that got my interest in the game in the first place. It was only soon after, that I realized the developers and a good number of the players had more in common with H.P. Lovecraft and Karl Marx than Ray Kurzweil or Michio Kaku.
