gaming Getting own PS4: is Last of Us any good?

I am getting my own PS4 because my brother is hogging the one we split.. And even if I wanted to get on, the hard drive is whithering in storage space. I pre ordered the Uncharted 4 PS4 bundle and hopefully it doesn't get delayed, from what I heard this morning. 

 

I never played the PS4 really. I have stuck with PC. Meaning even towards the PS3's last year, I never even played The Last of Us. I played Infamous Second Son, which was a disappointment. So how is Naughty Dog's newest IP? I know it has been praised to oblivion, but is it really worth it? 

 

I am getting other games too.

I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for this, but I thought the Last of Us was incredibly overrated. Don't get me wrong, it is a good game, but I just don't think it was as great as all the gaming publications and sites made it out to be. However, I am probably in the minority there. You should definitely play it, so you can decide for yourself.

I have to agree and even go further. I'm a huge fan of survival horror games and was stoked to play Last of Us, but found the game to be really average overall. The storyline was good and interesting, but the gameplay went from mundane to mediocre. You felt like you were funneled from one pre-designed encounter to another with little real need or use of exploration.

 

That said, we haven't had any good survival horror in a long time, Resident Evil went down the crapper after 5.

Also I would recommend the game HIGHLY; and this is coming from someone who normally does not care for games like this. Specifically for the story and characters, but the gameplay really does feel like a survival horror; IMO.
