ACR determines your dodge rate. Enemies have ACR as well. No need for a redundant extra stat when ACR already determines the success of attacks.

 

Plus there are plenty of methods to avoid stuff like that. Some attacks never miss, some attacks strip people of their ACR, etc.

I was unaware that acrobatics also determined hit rates. Sorry for the freakout. So when we begin, will we be just getting to the facility, meeting for the first time, or have already gone through intros and orientation. Dorm style, or separate rooms. Roommates?

Story starts with us all arriving at MEO for the first time. First training process, 2 Teams of 10 are created. Sent to dorms for the night. Next morning some more stuff happens, etc. Pretty simple intro.

Also I may have to close player entries now because I have to go to sleep. I'll start working on the IC thread tomorrow after I get home from school.

Well uhhh, I'll just drop Mepherit's info. (yes yes, she was accepted before the closing... I just had some trouble posting her info)

 

Name - Mepherit

Birthrune - Guardian

Sex - Female.

Age - 23

Bio - Ever since Mepherit was small she was alone, being abandoned by the world early on due to her parents dying while trying to save those who gave up on her. So she went on life for three years before an odd boy and his family had settled in town, the boy looked, acted and spoke like a girl. She didn't think much of it or interect with him when she saw him on the street but one day he asked her if she wanted to play something. She didn't know how to respond being indecisive at that age. Two years later she was given the task as his guard, or as Etherius' father called it, a guest. Due to her early days in life she has trouble trusting people, she'd probably do most things to protect Etherius due to what he has done to her and if need be sacrifice herself to save him.

Potential - Perfect Shield - despite what the name says, this shield of hers isn't to protect her, but the closer she is to the source of her contract the stronger her defensive capabilities get. If she were to be holding the contracted part in question she would be able to project a shield capable of blocking most things for a short time, but then taking twice the damage she would for the same amount of time.

Weapon(s) -

 

Svartalfheim Reaper - A  curved blade so sharp that it is said to be able to cut even trees apart.

 

Alfheim's barrier - A gigantic shield covering the whole user's height, no matter who is the user as if it was sentient and could grow.

 

Appearance - Mepherit didn't choose her own work clothing but let Etherius choose them for her as is policy. The clothing he chose for her was as follow, a black, crimson red detailed armguard on her left hand and a black sapphire detailed right one. Her arms are covered with a black armor that had the respective arm's details aswell as making it look like veins, coming to the shoulders two orb-like jewels of the respective colour sat and then it went into the chestplate in where around the chest area they formed into one pool mixing into a yin-yang symbol before going down all along her armor where the details remained the same for left and right side but blended together when reaching the middle. In total it reached the middle two times before going down to the legs and spiraling around the leg guards before ending. Her hair is long, although it is shorter than Etherius' as she liked it better that way, her hair is white, white as snow and her eyes look like an endless ocean of blue. She is a bit taller than Etherius, standing at 5'3 and a half inches tall.

 

And with that I'll also tell everyone that Etherius' Potential has got an aesthetic bump up which makes his left eye make his left demonic hand blue while his right his right arm red. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone... Really sorry.

I have a question about the hard cap of twenty of stats. Perhaps just a hard twenty is just too... Restricting upon the devices of individuality. By the end of this rp, no matter our birth rune, we will all have the same stats, making only our appearance and potential our defining characteristics. Not me banging on the system, and I'm perfectly willing to play it as is.

If we get as far as any stat getting capped, then that will probably be a matter to discuss. Although the differences, which are huge now (up to 300%, or 3 to 1) will get halved no later than at level 4 (150% or 6 to 4) and at level 9 will be mostly of no consequence (120% or 12 to 10).

 

All in all, I expect the stats to play the role they're supposed to -- and that is, background, mechanical. Your birthrune should define the way your character behaves, and will behave, as their skills develop. Just because you'll have as good a chance to block an attack as a Brute, won't stop an Assassin from trying to be sneaky or flanking the enemies.

The birthrune will only become obsolete at maxium level. We won't be getting there for a while, and everything that Hederik explained is true as well. You don't have to worry about anything.

It's kind of hard to make an assassin that's not edgy. I tend to write anti-heroes and villains, it's just what I do. I have trouble making characters that are wholly good and/or extroverted. Love the remark, though.

I know, but between the fact that there's authority and serious people involved, and also the fact that you guys are wearing black armor and tattoos and all of that, well, it's what she thinks of when she first sees people like that in a place like this. There's been a few antiheroes in her life, so she's playing it safe. Besides, that what I got when I read rolle's backstories and descriptions, so meh.

 

And don't worry, Jelial, you'll be made fun of plenty by her for being an edgy assassin antihero. Call it our own special interaction.
