@@crispy fries,

Mercury blinked at the cell that was soon to be hers. "What am I even here for?" she asked. Her voice was smooth and quiet and trailed off at the end from reluctance. Nonetheless, she stepped into the cell, looking carefully around it. Satisfied by her investigations, she sat down quietly and watched Redwood with dull gray eyes.

Shoosh.

"Yessir," said Redwood as she left for her quarters.

Before climbing into bed, Redwood took out the seductive photo of her that she had taken. She had likely taken it for the same reason she had gone so far with Hooligan. For the thrill. It was the only real enjoyment she could get around here, but it was of course something she liked to do. Redwood went to bed eager for tomorrow.

Mercury glanced up at Hooligan. She nodded and waved one hoof. "Hi," she said, voice quiet. It was the quiet of caution now, instead of reluctance. She seemed somehow stronger than she had in the presence of the guards. Perhaps it was the way she raised her head, or the brightness behind her gray eyes.

Hooligan gave a slight Chuckle, "you know you don't have to be so quiet," he said to her happily, "guards don't care if we talk. Just as long as we don't talk about my plans to overthrow Equestria." Hooligan laughed for a bit at himself and the stopped, "you got a name?"

Missklang was roaming on the roofs. He had no desire to return to his cell what's so ever. In fact, he positioned his newly acquired skeleton at his place in the bed. Knowing the guard, it would suffice to give the illusion of his presence. In case some creepsters decide to check more thoroughly, he left a note indicating his position and the time he was planning to return, around two o'clock. He started peeking in windows of the cells when he heard an interesting conversation. He fell over by the window, using his tail as a safety cord with which he was keeping himself from falling to the ground. Like that, he was hanging upside down. He realised that this was the newcomer's room. His eyes lit red in the dark frame of the window.

Overthrow Equestria? This does sound fun. Sign me in...

Hooligan couldn't see the out line of the pony hanging outside the newcomers room, but his eyes and voice were unmistakable. "Hey Missklang," Hooligan said with a grin, "I love the enthusiasm you have there but I'm sad to inform you I was kidding. But if you do want to course some trouble tomorrow I'd be more than happy."

Mercury blinked at him. "My name is Mercury," she said. "What's yours?"

Mercury kept her eyes trained on Hooligan, though she lay as perfectly still as a statue. The fur around her fetlocks was ruffled from the shackles which, she noted, had not been returned. Perhaps it was unneccesary.

"And, by the way, are we being watched?" she asked.

Shoosh.

@@Dapper Charmer,@@Amorphous,

Oh, it's quite regrettable. Well, there will be more time to destroy Equestria in the future. Cause trouble, however, does have an appealing sound to it. I might as well consider it. As long as I'm not caught, it would be even more fun.

He looked at Mercury.

I am quite sorry for the late intrusion. I was just...hanging around.

He puffed at his pun. Wobbling on his tail in the middle of the window frame.

Redwood didn't let me do the proper greetings. But I've heard your name, and you heard mine, so in some way, we were presented to each other all ready. Quite amusing. I won't bother for long. I still have to get back to my cell before somepony notice. But there is hardly anypony on the roofs here. No one is foolish enough to balance on the slippery slopes of this castle's top. Except Shadow of course...

Mercury raised an eyebrow, trying to get her thoughts in order as Missklang snapped away. She thought she heard a voice. Mercury's ears twitched, the only sign of her worry. She pondered whether helping would be worth the potential cost before glancing at Hooligan. Perhaps not the most sound guidance in Equestria, but it was something.

"Hey. Should I go up there?" she said.

Oh, speaking of the devil... You should be surprised. That's what I am for. If I was to not surprise, what would be the point?

He looked at his scythe.

Owww, quite a beauty you got there... Last time I saw one like that, it was death who was wielding it. But you are no shinigami, aren't you? Well, I found that there were no ghosts here, so I decided to take the duty. This place needs somepony to haunt it at night, no? A poltergeist perhaps? A spook that keep prisoners in their cells at night. I can't stay all the night in the cell! I slept this week twice already! That is the double of the usual amount of sleep! I have too much energy.
