Doc was walking by and saw Missklang on the ground. He levitated Missklang to the medical office and placed him on the bed, and watched to see if he gets better or worse.

He looked around.

 

Whither am I? Oh. . . this is a dream aye? I might not but has't hath passed out. 

 

He stretched is hooves. In a flash, an old victorian costume appeared on him to correspond to ancient equestrian dialect he was using.

 

Nightmare is doing quite well. T appears the lady hast much care towards me. I doth appreciate but the lady didst drop me into the darkness. I didst receiveth impal'd by a spike. not a pleasent experience but I did survive worse. Madeth Nightmare worry yond I might beest dead. I am, however, in a coma state even but now. I hath passed out due to the large ammount of deadly poison in mine own blood. nothing lethal, f'r me at least, but t weaken'd me greatly. I fear I'm unable to protect that lady f'r anon. and with Shadow gone tomorrow, t's a gravely lacking valor situation f'r me. 

 

He looked at Luna.

 

Thither is valorous news too. a guard is going to has't a pair of foals. thee knoweth, the one who is't hadst escort'd thee at which hour thee visit'd. Redwood wast that lady name.

"Maybe the fact for Nightmare caring about you is that you're the only one, beside me, that treats her as a friend."

She removed the clothes and said as it vanished,

"What makes you think she will be needing help protecting herself, and say it normally. "

I am, if you are perhaps aware, quite a long-liver. It's only natural that I try to make friends among those who don't age as well. 

 

He sighted.

 

Other ponies just die too quickly. I don't want to bear the pain or whatever may result from it.

 

He looked away.

 

I'm not saying she is in need of protection. She can defend herself. I'm just saying I don't like the fact I can't keep an eye on her, that's all. She did almost get attacked by some prisoner who was a changelling hybrid or something. He was persuaded that she is just an illusion who sustain it's physical form via magic and was thinking about absorbing all that magic, thus killing her. That didn't succeed, though.

 

He looked back at Luna.

 

There was also a thing worth of attention. Last time I saw her, she was deeply worried about something Shadow told her.  When I asked what, she told me about a lower level of the castle that was recently discovered. Then we went there. But I don't think the fact that there is another level could worry her so much. I think there is more to it...

"Trust me she is real, think of it like this. The unicorn brought her through time and made it so that she stays her with consequences."

She levitated a cup to her and said after taking a sip, 

"Did she say anything that might be the reason why she was worried?"

Oh, I never doubted that she was real.

 

His eyes widened.

 

Oh, that explains so many things!  If she was brought through time, it means she and you are a living paradox. The same pony existing at the same time in two different places. That explains why upon touch she would disappear. The universe would try to repair the paradox by eliminating the version that shouldn't be there. It makes so much more sense now.

 

He looked at Luna.

 

Well, now I think about it. She told me the story of the place we visited. About a dangerous criminal who got mad and escape, eliminating all of the other prisoners. Perhaps it has to do something with that? Maybe you can tell me? You perhaps know who the previous owner of the castle was? Or who the prisoner was?

"I was using that for an example, we are both of this time. Did you see anything or hear anything from the story that might have a clue to who the dangerous prison is or was."

She shook her head and said, 
"I didn't know that the prison was operational, even my sister didn't know

Well, when she was talking about who was imprisoned, she did hesitate before saying "dangerous prisoner". It could mean she knew who it was but didn't want to say. When I proposed a theory that that might be Shadow, she seemed to worry. Her voice was shaky and she also flinched. Could it be? I don't know. Perhaps that supposition was just too grim... She also told me about one mare who hid away in a cell not to be killed by the prisoner but died from lack of food and water as there was nopony to open the door for her. Actually, I found her skeleton, it's in my cell for now. You remember? When I teleported away when talking to you, I ended up there.

"That's a good theory. I have a few hours before I have to wake up to lower the moon. So, tell me what you are planning on doing with this skeleton?"

 

Nightmare tossed and turned in bed, then bolted upright and sighed as she saw that she was in her room. She got up and headed to the bathroom.

Well naturally, I'm going to revive it. I'm making it a fake body around its bones. I asked Shadow to provide me some materials.

 

His eyes sparked.

 

I'm sure the best pony to question on what happened is her. After all, she was there when it happened. Perhaps she could fill me with details... I don't know if Shadow believes that I am able to do that. Perhaps he thinks I'm just a crazy pony who make dolls for himself using eerie materials, perhaps not. But I am determined to do it. When I recover, of course...

Unable to sleep well, Kurren$y got on the floor and began wadding paper together, shaping it into shivs. This is so last minute, I hope nopony is awake, and if they are I hope they are up to as much deviance as I am.

 

Quickly he fashioned together a shiv for himself, Spell, and Mercury. Kurren$y then impaled himself in order to test the effectiveness of the weapons. A catch 22, the shiv worked as intended. After stopping the bleeding Kurren$y went out of his cell in order to hide the shivs in the trash can at the end of the prison-cell wing, then returned to his bunk in order to catch as much sleep as he could.

"Now I remember why Shadow heading out, he has a job. so you think that the spirit is still lingering around and hasn't already left?"

 

After Nightmare went the bathroom, she headed towards her room to try to get some sleep.

Unfortunately, Shadow was asleep by the time Redwood arrived at his office. As she headed back, she passed by Kurren$y's cell and felt an odd burning sensation. Then, Redwood realized that she hadn't been able to do a contraband check on his cell.

 

Redwood quickly called two other guards over, then banged on his cell door with her baton, yelling, "Contraband check!"

Missklang scratched his ear.

 

Died of such horrible death in such horrible circumstances, I say there is an extremely high chance of her still being somewhere there. A lost soul, not knowing what to do. Scared and alone. If not, I do know a method to talk to her, but Lauren won't appreciate me playing god and ripping souls from heavens or wherever they go.

 

He looked at Luna.

 

Say, I sensed Nightmare in her quarters before passing out. If you could tell her that I fainted, that would be nice. If she is asleep of course. If I'm still there, it would be best if she wakes up to transfer me to a medical centre or something. The colour of my blood can...surprise the medics if they are not warned...

Kurren$y shot up at the sound of "contraband check" and immediately crafted believable stories. 

 

"Hold the f*** up you didn't do this while I was away for half the day? I'm pretty sure I could do your job better than you at this point."

 

"It ain't contraband but I got this broken vacuum cleaner."

 

Could just hit her in the neck if all else fails. Those bottles cannot be confiscated.

Well, I could visit her and tell her that myself, you would only have to show me the right door. But I don't think you trust me enough to let me roam around the dream hallway... Even if escorted by you. But perhaps, after all, I can't swap places with her as she is not in my dream. But she did tell me she can visit, thus not dreams but nightmares. Perhaps if I start to have a nightmare she would come? I don't know... 

 

He looked at Luna.

 

Heh. Being relieved that she didn't die only to discover she died a long time ago... Might be quite a shock...

"I don't know if showing you the door. It might turn into my door when you go through. That would be a shock for a ghost. What are you going to do after you revive her and get your answers"

 

Nightmare looked at the ceiling as she tried to sleep. She sighed, got up, and walked around the prison

"Well, excuse me fer not bein' able to run a contraband check with a stab wound," said Redwood. "And excuse me if ah get suspicious when ah feel a burnin' sensation when ah walk by yer cell."

 

The two other guards held Kurren$y down while she searched the cell, closing in on whatever was giving her the burning sensation. It took her a few minutes, but she managed to find a few bottles.

 

Redwood called another guard over and said, "Take these to th' lockup."

 

"Sunnuva bitch, stabbin' a pregnant mare and now this," she muttered.

Kurren$y couldn't believe he was clumsy enough to let the fumes get out as much as they had. Fortunately toilet tanks aren't as cold as refrigerators, and the bottles had been building up pressure. The way the guards were handling the bottles only added to the hazard. It wasn't the timing he wanted, and the bombs weren't being thrown at Hooligan, but those bombs weren't waiting for anypony at this point. They were probably going to go off in the guard's hooves. Poor guy. . . he wasn't supposed to be the one to die. May the heavens lay you restfully in peace unknown brother.

Redwood was already halfway down the corridor when she heard an explosion. She swore and hit the fire alarm, and several guards were already rushing in.

 

"Evacuate th' hall and secure Kurren$y!" ordered Redwood.

 

The guards began to follow her orders, with an entire squad arriving to deal with Kurren$y.

Well, I will let it live. After all, the gem won't have enough magic to keep it alive for more than a normal pony live. So it would be like if she had a second chance to live the life she could had live. Of course, if she desires to die, I can't force her to live...

 

She shook his head.

 

Well, of course, her life would theoretically last until the crystal runs out of power, so it's possible to extend her life by recharging the crystal. Even if her bones are destroyed, as long as the crystal is intact, she will "live"... It's quite nice to live while not feeling pain. It is still possible to feel, of course, smell, hear and all... Eat or sleep is not needed. She won't get tired and would have a force superior to others, depending on what the body is made. I could of course, later on, upgrade it and such...

Shadow woke up by the siren, got up, and headed over to the cell with his shadow writhing as if it was alive. He saw Redwood standing there, walked up, and said, 
"What is going on? Hopefully this isn't a prank or a joke, cause I have to get up early."

"Kurren$y had some kinda bomb cookin' up, and it ended up takin' out a couple guards" said Redwood. "Ah had th' entire hall evacuated, and ah made sure Kurren$y's secure."

 

This was a disaster. How had he managed to make a bomb like that? Redwood didn't want to linger, as she could still feel the burning sensation.

Oh, I never said she couldn't sleep or eat. I'm just saying it won't be necessary. It would still be possible to do all that. In fact, at first, she would still need all of that because of the habit. It's also likely she will still try to breathe and such. Apart of that, everything should be totally fine.
