Hooligan watched Redwood leave and went back to eating his food. The truth was he was nervous. Not just about Shadow's reaction but with the whole being a father. He had no idea what was expected of a father. Suddenly an idea popped into his head. He did however know someone who was a father.

Hoolligan left the caf and headed to see Doc. He knocked on the infirmary door. "Doc can I talk to you for a bit?"

"Yeah, that's right," affirmed Redwood. "Ah tend to keep a spare on me just in case, so that'll do fer now."

Redwood pulled out a metallic black ring and used it to replace the one on Mercury's horn.

"Yer good to go," she said.

Redwood then remembered that Mercury was in the infirmary when she dropped the news on Doc. Could she know too?

Mercury smiled at Redwood. "Thanks!" she said. Turning around, she gave Redwood a wave before trotting on light hooves. She wandered the corridors of the prison, smiling as she searched. Guards were, apparently, surprisingly fond of giving directions. Mercury wanted to see if she could find something important.

Well, important to her. Old habits die hard.

Shoosh.

Doc turned around and said,
"Oh, Hooligan, sure, what do you want to talk about. Hopefully not about another broken bone or needing stitches."

He went to the cabinet and started taking inventory of what he had and what he needed, then he wrote it down and rolled it up.

Redwood had been focused on Mercury and it wasn't until now that his words sunk it. Since she had offered to sponsor him, it was Hooligan's choice whether or not he stayed or left.

Redwood ran down to the cafeteria, ignoring the slight ache coming from where she got stabbed. He wasn't there, so she checked his cell. Not there either, so she ran up to the infirmary. This time, she was successful.

"Y'all ain't gonna fuckin' believe it," said Redwood as she barged in.

He smiled as Doc left. It was as good advice as he was expecting from Doc. Suddenly he remembered something important. He quickly ran to catch up to Doc he reached Shadow. "Doc before you hand that list to Shadow I was hoping you could help me with one last thing." Hooligan leaned in and whispered to Doc what he needed.

"He..he said that?" said Hooligan as a smile of pure joy spread across his face. He couldn't believe it, after all the crap Hooligan had put Shadow through he was gonna let him be with Red. Hooligan noded in agreement with Redwood, "Let's not waste any time then," said Hooligan as he walked up beside Red. He was unbelievably happy. Everything this past few days was going well for both him and Red. And if Doc could get him that thing he wanted it would get even better. "since he's in such a good mood maybe we can ask Shadow if, when I become a guard, we can share sleeping quaters," Hooligan said playfully.

Mercury was bored.

Where were bank vaults when she needed them most, dammit?

She trudged through a swamp of invisible sludge. Or, at least, it felt like it. Good goddesses above, she was bored. She looked out the small, barred windows of the hallway. Perhaps she could speak to one of the prisoners. She shrugged as she picked a direction. It was as good a plan as any.

Hooligan was completly fine on the way here but as he stepped into the office he suddenly became nervous as hell. What if this was all just some sick trick layed out by Shadow? Mercury found herself following voices once again. She had nothing better to do than stalk her inmates and the staff, apparently. Mercury chuckled to herself as she walked, shoes clicking against the floor. Shame, really. These prisons should get more group activities, she thought. Crafts and sports and stuff. I am reaching a serious low here.

She kept as far away from the voices as she could while still making out the words. With a toss of her red mane, she took a place by the door they came from.
