gaming Gears of War 4 Beta

The beta for Gears of War 4 started this week and I was wondering if any one else got a chance to play it? If so, what were you thoughts on it?

I remember playing Gears of War 2 back in the day, and that was fun. Sadly I feel that franchise has sort of lost its fire. With the possibility of it being ported to PC this year, it's safe to say that Microsoft hopes to put Gears of War in the hands of more people than just Xbox users. If that happens, I will probably try it on PC.

I haven't tried it yet, though from what I have heard, it is very....samey. Apparently it is immensely like the other games, with little added to really change up the gameplay much, which can be a good or bad thing. I guess you should fix what isn't broken, though if the shotguns are still the only weapon to use, then that is something that should be fixed, but won't be. I like the gameplay of GoW, but the multiplayer itself to me is heavily flawed because the shotgun is basically the only weapon to use. It gets really old really fast. 

 

I do like that the developers are wanting to use a beta actually as a friggin beta and not as a marketing scheme. I still think that the shotgun issue will never be changed though. For some reason, a lot of fans love that aspect.

Yeah, that's a good way to describe it. I do like the new abilities they added like being able to pull someone out of cover and being able to hop over cover. I understand not everyone is fond of the Gnasher, but in my opinion, it's a big part of what makes Gears "Gears" in my opinion. That being said, I do think they should make the Lancer and Hammerburst more viable. I think they should add the stopping power the Lancer had in Gears of War 3. It helps against people who like to rush in with the Gnasher.
