Hey evrypony!

 

After many years, a sequal finally got announced afer the game Dawn of War 2 Retribution.

 

Thats right folks, Dawn of War 3 just got announced today, at first i tought it was fanmade, but this is totally the real one. (You can even see Sega in the intro credits, the irony xD)

 

I am so hyped for it right now, I dont know about you guys but i will be praying for this to turn out good.

 

I am still pretty doubtfull tough when it comes to the quality of the game itself, It was mentioned by a website that interviewd sega and relic, that Dawn of War 3 will probelly be using the Company of Heroes 2 engine, altough im a not 100% sure about it.

 

They did release some screenshots, and this looks alot like the COH2 engine to me

 

 

 

 

 

But enough about my oppinion xD. I want to know yours!

I own all Dawn of War titles and I am SOOO buying it. Gabriel Angelos, Macha and Gorgutz on a single planet? Count me in!

 

One thing though. I know Knights are all the rage nowadays, but come on! They're subordinate to Adepts Mechanics and the Forge Worlds witch granted the noble family Knight status, not some fleet based chapter of Adepts Astartes... Maybe the planet us a Knight World, that would fix the problem...

I agree, i am as hyped as you are for this game .

 

I think its safe to asume that the story plays in a diffrent sector then the one in dawn of war 2, considering that imperial knights make a appearence. I have been waiting for this game for 5 years, and now its finally announcted...

 

I grew up with W40K and i will never stop loving it.

I really enjoyed the almost action-rpg nature of II and Chaos Rising, so the prospect of a larger scale doesn't really appeal. Not with space marines anyway - with Guard I might enjoy it more.

 

The images make me a little worried that it's going to be the same as Retribution, which was my least favourite, so I eagerly anticipate gameplay footage. Another II or Chaos Rising would probably be good enough for me, but they really need to change something to justify being the third iteration.

Aren't there some crusading types that meander across the galaxy purging xenos / traitors? And if they have a knightly code of honour then they might be obliged to assist for contrived reasons - knowing Games Workshop, there will be an excuse available to allow players to field a knight with any force of the Imperium (or Chaos.)

You're right - there are some loose cannons out there... We'll see how the devs will explain the presence of Knights in the game but it seems like they have the same colour scheme as the Chapter they're fighting with. Since we're talking about powerful nobles with their own heraltry and whatnot, it's a big overlook if it's true. Also, there's a knight who's best friends with Ultramarines?! Curse you Matt Ward and your Ultrasmurfs! They always get all the best stuff...

 

As far as gameplay goes, I sure hope they'll finally learn how many Marines are in a single Squad - 5. First they made 9, then 4...

I admit that the tactical approach of DoW 2 and Chaos Rising had it's appeal when playing as Marines, but it just doesn't work with other races, maybe except Eldar who are relatively few in numbers anyway. I think they aim for a refubrished Dawn of War 1 with new features and on a bigger scale. kind of a Dawn of War: Apocalypse experience. It appears that they're holding an ace in their sleeve in Multiplayer though - I sense a game mode where you make and break alliances on the fly and only one player can win, simillar to what they say about the campaign really. Backstabbing in an RTS can be interesting.

 

I sure hope they'll make a Guard expansion, like Winter Assault. I love Imperial Guard much more than OP Sphess Mehreens anyway.
