Are Equestrian apples tougher than ours are?

Instead of manually picking their crop like we do, Applejack and her family harvest their namesake fruit by physically kicking them down. But wouldn't this bruise the apples, or are they just tougher than real world apples?

Kicking the tree itself does not cause the apples to bruise. It merely causes the stems to break so that the apple falls.

However, falling from the height of an apple tree, an apple would have to land in semi-soft ground in order to be fine. Given that apple farms' dirt tends to be somewhat healthy and soft, I would say that this is the case and that no, Equestrian apples are not harder.

"Time is just an illusionary factoid that all natural things are bound to. It has the power to crumble even the mightiest of mountains into little more than dust, yet if it is an illusion, why is this so? Because people waste a lot of time, only wishing they had more. Little do people realize an inescapable fact: Time governs those who wish they had more of it. By wishing you could use it better, you govern time, and you can get all the time you'll ever need." — Starfall, Quillwaver

IRL, you can't make apples fall by hitting the tree. Bucking the tree is magic & protects the apples. IMO, Equestrian apples are no tougher than Earth apples.
