Ticktock cocked his head to Witty's answer about 'interesting cards' but he shrugged "Well to each their own I guess."

 

Ticktock then nodded his head Witty's response on the duel, "Yeah good call there, I might of taken him up, but I don't think I have what it takes to duel someone like him yet."

A large smile grew across Witty's face. If you've known her long enough, it was telltale sign that she had an idea. "Maybe you can't take him alone, but~"

 

She looked over to see both Cooper and another duelist. "Ticktock, are you familiar with tag duels?"

Ticktock gulped at Witty's smile, he didn't know what it meant but it creeped him out. The came the question about tag duelling "Hmm can't say I am, I've heard the term thrown around from time to time, however I have no idea how it works... why exactly do you ask?"

"Well that's simple, you can't start a tag, or more formerly a tag team duel, without a partner." Witty frowned as she thought of the best way to word this next part, "As for how they work... The style of tag duel we would probably be doing works like a normal duel, except each player on a team alternates between control of the field."

 

She took a moment and stopped her explanation, to look and Ticktock and ask, "Does that make sense or did I lose you?"

Ticktock nodded his head to Witty "Oh I get it, so we take turns controlling the field, but have to work together to set up the board for whatever we want to do, for example I play a field card that next turn will help you monsters become stronger, something like that?"

 

Ticktock took a deep breath "Ok then so would you like to do the honours of challenging those two?"

Yuma shook his head and shoo'd the gazer from him.  "Nah.  You can use it, it's kind of required for the duel."

 

He turned to Astral and said, "See?  What did I tell ya?  He said he wouldn't steal it."

 

Astral shook his head.  "That does not mean he won't.  I do not trust this pony."

 

Yuma growled in anger at his friend, but turned around, crossing his arms, and said, "Whatever.  Let's just watch the duel."  And with that, he made his way back to the surrounding crowd, with Astral floating behind.

 

Copper raised an eyebrow at the events, but shrugged, knowing he'll figure out what happened.

Witty seemed impressed with Ticktock's response. There may have been a little more to it, but those were the basics nicely summed up. 'He's a fast learner, I can appreciate that.' As for the matter of challenging Cooper and that other pony.

 

With a small grin, Witty said, "I'd have it no other way." Almost immediately afterwards, Witty turned towards Cooper and the other stallion and shouted, "Hey you two, my friend and I would like to take you up on that duel. More to the point, we're going to win!" @@Dynamo Pad,@@DwhitetheGamer,

Dynamo took the duel gazer back and nodded his head in understanding. "Oh okay. Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't know this duel gazer goes with the duel disc." He said as he watched the human walk back to the crowd.

 

"Sorry for keeping you waiting. So what do you say? Are you still up for that tag duel Copper?" Dynamo turned towards Copper as he slipped the duel disc on his left front hoof. A smile on his face while he kept the duel gazer in his levitated grasp.

Copper looked at Dynamo and nodded at him.  "Sure!  Just head over to my side and we'll get this duel started."

 

The Pharaoh and his friends looked at what had happened, with Joey saying, "I wonder who the kid was yellin' at, Yug."

 

The Pharaoh looked at Joey before saying, "That one is named Astral, and he's a spirit, though I don't know his story."

Dynamo's smiled widened a bit as he heard Copper's reply. "Awesome! I'm ready to get this duel started." He said as he walked over towards Copper's side of the field. Once he got into position, he shot his left front hoof forward as if punching the air. His duel disc activated and he placed the duel gazer on his left eye. He then placed his deck into the duel disc and it automatically shuffled for him.

 

"Okay, duel disc online! Duel gazer set! Okay I'm ready and set to go." He said turning his head towards Copper, letting him know that he was ready to duel.

Ticktock took a deep breath "Ok Witty, I'm ready to go."

 

Ticktock then walked out so he was directly across from Copper "Ok dude you ready to get beaten?" Ticktock then activated his duel disk, used his magic to place his deck into it. He then watched as his deck was auto shuffled "Ok well that's me ready, prepare to lose a second time Copper!... and in your case other pony of which I don't know that name, prepare to lose once!"

After a few minutes had passed, Witty hung her head in defeat and followed behind Ticktock. "Well... I guess when provocation doesn't work... you can always just walk up to someone." 

 

With that aside, she readied her duel disk and stood beside Ticktock. Her deck was auto shuffling when a thought occurred. She looked over to her teammate, "Prepare to lose twice?" (I assume the match begins)

Dynamo looked forward seeing a purple unicorn and a red earth pony facing them. "So it looks like they are our opponents." Dynamo thought to himself. Seeing more players in this duel got Dynamo even more excited and was ready to do his best.

 

"My name is Dynamo Pad, but you can call me Dynamo. No matter what, win or lose, I'm gonna do my best and have a lot of fun! Also I don't know the names of you guys either." Dynamo said as he looked to his opponents with a determined grin on his face.

The duel was going fine for Witty and Ticktock until a very... 'interesting' card was played by her opponent. When she saw the Number monster, her eye grew wide. 'Where did this kid get a number monster... He's not a~ fine, two can play at this game.' She brought her own number to face his but...

~

 

"No way... we lost." Her team had been utterly destroyed by the combined efforts of Coopers Blue-eyes alternative, and number S39. She was so distracted that her number 101 slowly drifting towards Dynamo was of little concern to her. 

 

She looked over at her two opponents, and honed in on Dynamo. "Where did you get that number card?"

After the final attack Copper had dealt with his Blue Eyes Alternative Dragon and Utopia, Dynamo's team won the duel. "Good game Copper. We make a pretty good team together." Dynamo's duel disc deactivated and he took off the duel gazer as well. He saw Witty's card float over to him and landed in his hooves. He was confused by what had happened and decided to head over to his opponents. He held the number 101 card with a levitation spell.

 

"Hey good duel you guys. It was a little crazy in the beginning, but it was a great duel nonetheless."The weird thing is I don't even know myself. When I found my deck at a card shop, the deck had the number cards included. Here this card is for you. I have number 101 already and you deserve this card more than I do. I honestly want to be friends with you both more than a simple card. That duel was fun and I can tell all three of you are amazing duelists. Will you be my friend?" Dynamo said as he held the card out to Witty while outstretching his right front hoof towards her. A small yet hopeful smile on his muzzle.

When Dynamo walked over to her, spoke to her made, and made the kind gesture of offering her number 101 back. Witty placed a hoof in front of face, in a sad attempt to hide her shame. 'Well, he's defiantly no number hunter. Although, I'm not sure if that makes this any better or more embarrassing.' 

 

She attempted to regain her composure and smiled, "Keep it. You both were amazing duelist and you earned it fair and square." Her stubborn pride wouldn't let her accept it back. "Those number cards are a little hard to come by, so take care of it, because next time I'm beating you and taking back." 

 

Her smile was honest, and there was a determined look in her eyes. She hadn't openly accepted his friendship but, considering her usual tendencies, this very close.

Dynamo's smile faltered before disappearing. He never wanted to a ponies cards away and it seemed important to her. After hearing what she had to say and that she will come back for the card, his smiled returned and it formed into a light smirk on his muzzle. "I don't think I'm really amazing to be honest. I felt a little lucky and was just having the most fun I could have. I promise to take care of it and I look forward to the day you and I can duel again Witty. He said while turning and walking towards the human who let him borrow his dueling gear.

 

"Here you go. Your duel disc and duel gazer just like I promised. Thanks for letting me borrow them for the duel. I really do appreciate it. I could thank you more properly, but I apologize because I don't know your name." He said to the human as he rubbed his hoof through his mane while chuckling.

Copper looked at the two duelists, confused as to why this was happening.  But he decided to go with it.

 

Yuma looked at the pony giving him back his duel disk and gazer, smiling and retrieving them.  "Thanks, kid.  And you don't need to thank me.  Name's Yuma by the way."

 

Astral looked intrigued.  "You were lucky you didn't have your gazer and duel disk stolen, Yuma."

 

Yuma snapped at Astral once again.  "Will you knock it off?!  You know that it was necessary for him to-"

 

He stopped, as a helicopter showed up over them all.  Every pony looked up to see Seto Kaiba on the edge of it.  "Greetings, fellow duelists and little ponies!  I am Seto Kaiba, and what those of you just witnessed in Ponyville will be what will happen in the next few days!  Thanks to your princesses, Equestria will hold its' very first Battle Nation Tournament.  All of Equestria will participate, so long as you have a Duel Disk.  A letter has been sent to your homes and wherever you have one, and if you want to partake, simply start dueling.  If not, then don't waste your time and stay out.  I will see only the best duelists in Canterlot's castle after the finalists are chosen."

 

And with that, the helicopter sped off to another section of Equestria, spreading the news.  Copper saw the helicopter, then a letter popped out.  He took it with his hooves and read the message.  He said as he met the ponies that he dueled,  "Looks like we'll be meeting each other again soon, guys."

Dynamo was glad to finally know Yuma's name, but still wondered who he was talking to. "Your welcome Yuma and I guess I didn't give you my name either. My name is Dynamo Pad, but you can call me Dynamo." He said as he saw a helicopter fly over the crowd of duelists. Hearing that a tournament would be held soon for all duelists seemed really intriguing and fun. He wondered what kind of duelists he would meet during this tournament, as well if he would duel his new friends as well. He would have to remember on his way home to check his mailbox and and see if he got the letter.

 

"It looks that way. I'm really curious on who else will join this tournament Kaiba's hosting. Either way, this looks to be like a promising tournament." Dynamo said as he turned away from Yuma and back to ponies he dueled.

After the battle had been lost Ticktock blinked a few times and chuckled "Well... that's a blow to the ego." Ticktock then saw the whole number card thing with Dynamo and Witty "Ok that's not what I expected to happen. Witty what was that all about?"

 

After the Helicopter left Ticktock smiled at his three new friends "Yep looks like we're all going to meet again, although don't think you guy's will find it easy, luckily for you in that tag duel a had really bad card draw. Still good luck to you all."

Luck had nothing to do with it. At least in Witty's eyes, Dynamo dueled like many of the number hunter she'd faced before, 'Give or take, even better.' Now that she thought about it, Dynamo mentioned that he brought that deck in a shop. 'Who would sell him something that dangerous?'

Once Kiba had announced the tournament and left, Witty turn towards the ponies she had just dueled. "I guess Coopers right, I won't be passing a tournament like this up; and good luck to you three as well. As for that card you saw Ticktock..." She thought about an easy way to explain that event, "The long short of it is, that's one of the 'interesting' cards I mentioned earlier. That kind of thing happens when you lose a duel with them."

Dynamo had heard Witty talk about the card he got in the duel. He didn't see why it was so interesting, but it seemed important to look into. "Hey, do you guys want to go to Sugarcube Corner? We can get some treats to eat and I can go get my duel disc. It would also be great to get to know each other, if that's okay with you guys." Dynamo said wanting to hang out with the ponies he dueled and get to know them a little better.

Witty shook her head at Dynamo and said, "I think i'll give sugarcube corner a pass. I need to head home." She then turned her attention to Ticktock, "As for answering -one- of your questions. That's what happens when two duelist play a number card and one loses. The winner takes it, no if, and, or buts..." That seemed like all she was willing to share at the moment.

 

With that, Witty yawned and began to face the direction of her home. "I guess if that's the deck you're going to be using Dynamo, i just thought I should give you a fair warning. That and you both seem like a good pair."

Astral looked at the pony duelists conversing and made a mental note of how the ponies were reacting.  'Equestria vacation observation number 4.  These little ponies are surprisingly skilled at dueling.  However, they also share a similar threat in our world, that being Number Hunters, as witnessed by the pony known as Witty.'

 

Copper joined the ponies for a brief moment, saying, I'll go ahead and meet you guys at Sugarcube corner, and it's on me."

 

And with that, he took off to his house, hoping to get the bits needed.

Dynamo heard about the warning and what would happen should he lose a duel against a number hunter. He felt worried, but thought that Witty didn't seem like an evil duelist. He also heard Witty tell him that his deck and himself were a good match. He smiled and replied, "Thanks for the warning. Also, you and your deck are a good pair as well."

 

Dynamo nodded his head towards Copper as he ran off towards his house. "Okay we'll save you a seat! No rush we'll wait for you!" He yelled as he turned to face Ticktock. "So you ready to go Ticktock? We can talk on the way." Dynamo said as he started making his way towards Sugarcube Corner.
