Baykush 328 October 14, 2016 Share October 14, 2016 Also, don't forget this: You can't have a nightmare if you never dream. That line alone is by far the most unsettling thing I've seen in the show. It wasn't even "creepy" on its own, but when I look at their smiles thinking of that line (and the whole song) suddenly they become even more disturbing, because it gives them a context that can be applied to the real world. In the other episode the smiles were just meant to make an absurd situation for comedy sake, they aren't unsettling in a way that makes you think. Now, they're still far away from being the most unsettling thing I've ever seen, but this is MLP, and I don't expect that from this kind of show. cmarston1 5,959 October 15, 2016 Share October 15, 2016 Well in season 6, Starlight uses powerful magic in order to strip away free will and enslave her supposed friends into doing her bidding. I find it more creepy that she would be willing to do this kind of things to people she is supposed to like and befriended, than random strangers. cider float 2,538 October 15, 2016 Share October 15, 2016 When I found out that Starlight was voiced by Barbie and the way she sounded so plastic and phony while still sounding comforting and nice that just sent chills down my spine.
Lambdadelta 1,462 October 15, 2016 Share October 15, 2016 The mind-control thing is just played for comedic purpose, I find it funny more than disturbing. The whole brain-wash process in Our Town is the most creepy thing that the show has ever done.
cider float 2,538 October 15, 2016 Share October 15, 2016 (edited) Also remember Starlight made that village and made all the villagers like that because of some mentally ill obsession and fear of her friends leaving again. That's pretty creepy on it's own. That's like something straight out of a Batman villain with all the psychological problems attached.
