Sly 236 November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 Hi again. Now that I've took out all my negative feelings about the S6 finale, I can now talk about something more general. Indipendentely by the fact I'm quitting MLP with the Movie, there's something strange going on. The S7 is gonna start in February-March (approximatively talking if my calculations are correct) however there's something.... weird about it... In past for all the previous seasons the theme of the season (like the Rainbow Power for the S4, the Cutie Mark Magic for S5 and Explore Equestria for S6) that matched with the corrispondent toyline, appeared several months before the start of the season (and for several I mean like.... 7-8 months in advance), but this time.... I don't see anything... So this makes me thinking: what if the whole season 7 will be made to build up the Movie itself, and the Movie IS the theme of the S7? I don't think Guardians of Harmony will be the theme of the S7, if I'm not mistaking that one is a standalone toyline with no influence in the show (and that it's gonna get its own Comic Book series). Of course, this is just speculation, and I could be easely wrong (and for that matter for what I know, the theme of the season 7 could appear even in a few seconds as I'm writing right now). If I'm forgetting something thought, you're free to correct me. But what do you think about my speculation?
Derplight Sperkle 1,013 November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 I think that season 7 could have some buildup to the movie. But I think based on the ending of Legends of the Everfree.... About the fact that Equestrian magic is coming out of the portal to the human universe. It could be the major plot point. Signature by me Equestrian Empire Cast Characters: Daring Do, Twilight Sparkle My awesome OC
Ganondorf8 11,318 November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 If season seven was to be a prelude, I can see it becoming significant in the season finale but with some buildup in the several episodes prior to that. Then again, what Derplight said is also a possibility.
Sly 236 November 3, 2016 Author Share November 3, 2016 Mmmhhhh... I don't think EG will have any influence on the S7 or the Movie, that spin-off has always been oyt of the canon of the main series (althought the timeline of the main series always influenced EG). I think those sparkles at the end of LoE are going to influence just the three EG specials.

If I'm forgetting something thought, you're free to correct me. But what do you think about my speculation? To be honest, I hope not; If they try and make it so that you need to have seen the S7 season to understand the movie, its going to hurt the movie's success: You want a movie to be able to be walked into and sat down to without requiring alot of prior knowledge. If they made the S7 set up the movie, you'd have alot of issues with turning off the "mainstream" audience and confusing them, Making it VERY likely to hurt the movie's success, yeah? Now, i wouldn't mind if they referenced some small things from the past like Starswirl, since referencing that he did stuff in the past for equestria would be a good way to connect with old viewers while not making new ones lost, or even something like the pony of shadows from castlemania, but that's about it. Now, I do agree about the issues with S6 and S5, and I'm thinking that things are highly probably stuck in a "Filler" mode until after the movie, to avoid upsetting the status quo since the movie had to be started on LONG ago. Hopefully that means we'll get some SERIOUS development and status quo changes coming up for the movie related to the mane six, and not a certain pinkish-purple pony. I think that season 7 could have some buildup to the movie. But I think based on the ending of Legends of the Everfree.... About the fact that Equestrian magic is coming out of the portal to the human universe. It could be the major plot point. Going to be honest, I don't think that will have anything to do with the FIM show, and will be a completely 100% EQG thing; I don't think the magic has a real concrete source, its just that the Dimensional tears from Friendship games weren't totally healed and Non-descript Equestrian magic (since the entire world is magical more or less) is Coming through.
Sly 236 November 7, 2016 Author Share November 7, 2016 (edited) cut I'll answer with a question: you realize that by the concept arts we got someone HAS to watch AT LEAST the first four seasons regardless if he/she wants to understand the story better (Twilight will be an alicorn and her castle is there)? Why they would make the Movie taking place before the next three seasons? I don't see any difference in this, so it's pretty probable that all the events of all the first seven seasons will affect the Movie anyway. Besides, other shows who got featured Movies had the events of their previous seasons linked to them. It wouldn't be shocking if even MLP will have the same treatment. I don't see any difference in this, so it's pretty probable that all the events of all the first seven seasons will affect the Movie anyway. Twilight being a princess isn't something that you need to watch the first 3 seasons to understand: all they'd need to say was that Twilight is an alicorn because she understands friendship/undertook great actions for equestria, and most new audience members wouldn't have any issues understanding it. Given how twilight's ascension hasn't really changed too much of the status quo except putting more focus on her, it wouldn't need any real explanation in the movie, any moreseo than having to explain "Why is celestia an alicorn"? The ONLY reason for them to need to have prior knowledge of S1-S3 for twilight being an alicorn is if they make Alicorn lore and twilight being one the central Premise of the plot (Which, if I remember correctly, they actually had somewhat as the Initial premise based on the Sony e-mails, but they got shot down about it Confusing New people-- So while they COULD have decided to go through with their original plot idea about alicorns being the central premise, its highly likely they scrapped that)
Sly 236 November 7, 2016 Author Share November 7, 2016 cut They could always set the Movie in a way it's not necessary to watch the S7, but the S7 still builds up things for it anyway. Also.... the writing started AFTER the completition of the writing of the S5 and partially the S6 as well. Ah whatever. I guess we'll just to wait the first trailer to get an idea... Uh... I trend to use this "Ah whatever" thing too much often... curse you Hades...
Lambdadelta 1,462 November 8, 2016 Share November 8, 2016 Anyone can confirm this movie will be a continuation of S7? I think this movie is a spin-off ... come between S4 and S5.
Hierok 11,831 November 10, 2016 Share November 10, 2016 Well, I think it would be really awesome if they do it right. If they do it wrong, there's a terrible season and movie, so it takes risk. If I don't understand something or Interpret it wrong, I'm dutch. Sometimes I gamble for meanings of the words. And sometimes I write the wrong words, like week and weak for example. LeafFerret 3,382 November 16, 2016 Share November 16, 2016 I don't think so, I think it will be unrelated to the series, I think this will take place during the offseason or what fans call the in between seasons hiatus, in other words during the Fall and Winter.
