@@Mentis Soliloquy,

The crystal mare slowly raised an eyebrow at the captain's words. She nodded, slowly, when he made his point clear. well, one of them at least. Crystal Clear stopped playing a comic book villain in her lair and sat up straight, then fired up her console. "I guess I can turn a blind eye on some fine print here and there..." - She worked the magic in the computer and glanced at her guests ocasionally, with her good eye. With a triumphant nod, she pressed Enter and turned the chair to face them with a broad smile. "Done and done. Your ID cards now have unlimited access to my playground, so try not to lose them, OK?. Just put it to a door scanner every time you see them closed and voila! They will close again in thirty seconds though. Turbolifts should work too. And I added the unlimited bridge for me too, as requested. Although poke me in the eye if I knew why..." - she scratched her head in some confusion, hoping the captain will muster his wits and spill the beans.

I'd like it to be set up Crystal that both I and Flight here have a means of unfettered access to main engineering without me having to cite access codes and Flight just being barred in situations like this. I out of all my crew think we are the main and best candidates when it comes to seeing the ship both working and can fly it.

"If we are disregarding those regulations, captain," Misty said, a cautious tone in her voice, "When do you anticipate circumstances where such precautions will be necessary? Especially compared to the occurrence of circumstances these regulations are designed to avoid?" She stopped, thinking about whether to pursue this line of questioning.

"I like questions and comments, I am happy you all said at least something. No questions makes things dull."

"Are you expecting some kind of trouble, captain?"

Indicus nodded in understanding, "Ahh, well I can say that through all the ponies I have trained for ground, ship and zero gravity combat along with recon. Most have show to work just as hard as other trainees."

Indicus smiled. "They also provide nice tactical uses as well the ones without wings or a horn are two times stronger and more durable then humans, the unicorns while a tad bit more fragile then humans can cast an array of spells that can have many combat and utility uses, and the pegasi, are very mobile with their wings and are great for recon. I would trust to have a pony to have my back like I would any other federation fighter."

Doctors are rare among us Klingons! Who wants to heal the sick when they can take a Bat'leth to one of our enemies throats!" He coughed when he realized that he was being stupid. "We have a few field medics on board it's what is most common on Klingon warships."

Blood Drops raised her eyebrow at the remark. "How interesting, though im sure if you died from a common cold, the dishonour would be great" she remarked. She smirked, filed medics wouldn't know how to reattach a lost leg. "How fascinating, though im sceptical that your field medics know that complex a procedure. Remind me to make sure I don't ever get stuck on a Klingon warship, or any ship really" she remarked.

Her report the captain would be highly interesting after this, she would make sure she wouldn't be operating with any Klingon doctors if anything happened. There was a limit to the amount of incompetent staff she worked with, and that limit was zero.

@@Mentis Soliloquy,

Her ever-so-expressive ears lifted up in interest when the Klingon mentioned his position aboard his ship. Perhaps she would get along well with this one, after all. That polite smile of hers warmed into something more genuine, the points of her fangs showing briefly. "Is that so? Then, as ship's counselor here, I suppose we do have something in common. Pleased to meet you, Gorg."

When asked if he could sit, Lunar nodded her head, gesturing with her hand to the empty seat across from her. "Please, make yourself comfortable."

The Klingon nods along to Indicus's assessment of his colleges. "I would not mind Insicus (@Shadow Dancer) if showed me some logs of test fights you've done with them I'd like to see for myself."

"(@Miss Reaper) Comfortable is a human thing, Klingons have no need for it, but thank you for the seat." She could tell he was someone who'd be what you wanted him to be depending on who was asking. "So I hear you cannot see pony?" Leaning forward in interest.

(@BloodDrops) He laughed heartily. "It would be a weak Klingon to die to a foe he could not see, he'd deserve death. However I will talk to one of our medic about fixing the food issue, we must be fully ready if we are going to fight the Romulans..." He spat at the name.

(@Raven Rawne), (@Once In A Blue Moon) He looked at both of them and their respective questions. "No nothing is wrong, I just know from experance that the helmsman and chief Engineer have, or should have access to the entire ship, you both know the ship as well as myself, if not a little better. It cuts all the time it takes to bypass security in the relevant situations is all."

I'll just assume you have a good reason for that and live in my blissful ignorance to the grand scheme of things..." The mare had a sly smile on her face, she wasn't terribly good at playing dumb.

A sudden flash of yellow turned her attention to the wall of screens as Crystal tried to tell what was going on. She held a finger in the air as she spun a little in her chair and poked her head out to read the printed name of the system in question. "Hold on a lil', something's flashing on me..." She closed her good eye to zoom on the little text, but quickly covered her artificial eye with a palm of her hand and leaned back, cursing. "Aww shit! Owww that hurts! S-stupid implant!" Crystal Clear drove a fist of her free hand into the chair's arm rest and ground her teeth, then started taking deep breaths and slowly opened her good eye. "F***ing gizmo turned night vision instead of zoom, can you believe that?! Felt like a phaser cannon right in the eye... Arrrrgh, least the light's green again..." She needed a moment to recover, as her chest slowly ceased moving like ocean waves during a storm of the century and she let go of her fake eye, then slowly opened it and blinked several times. Indicus nodded, "I can do that, I have recorded sparring matches, and simulations involving ponies I have trained so far. The fights are pony versus human, pony versus Vulcan and so on." Indicus got out his data pad and started going through it to find the mentioned fights before finding a pretty good one and showing the Klingon.

@@Mentis Soliloquy,

Lunar nodded her head and hummed, "Noted." The adaptive sort, one whom could become what others would have them be to best suit themselves. An efficient asset, especially in the context of negotiations and mediating, but also dangerous in that he could easily manipulate one's perception of him while hiding a more sinister agenda. She couldn't know for certain which it would prove to be; but for now, she was giving the benefit of the doubt. Some trust was a must, after all, if she was to help keep tensions to a minimum.

With the remark of her lack of sight, the thestral sighed. Not that it was exactly a secret, but she wasn't particularly fond of broadcasting that fact if she could help it. If only because she didn't want anyone seeing her as less than what she was due to this "handicap" of hers. She nodded to affirm his statement, anyway, pushing back her bangs to show her clouded red eyes. "It's true. I guess you could say I'm blind as a bat."

Th mare waved a hand dismissively at the idea of having her implant checked. "It's fine, really. Nothing wrong's happenning when I don't use zoom or thermal and besides, I had it checked by several butchers already, and they keep saying the same - that it's working fine and I just mess the controls..." She obviosuly was upset by such a display in front of her captain, and as soon as she was left alone in the office, she took out a small mirror and checked her left eye, grumbling. "You make me look like an idiot again, and I'll pry you out with a rusty screwdriver, got it? I still have that eyepatch somethere..."

When the ship arrived at the meeting point, the crystal mare had to come back to her station, even though it was her break shift. She yawned slightly and drummed her fingers on the console, waiting for anything to happen really. The other yellow shirts seemed to be rather tense as she panned her eyes around the Main Engineering in a mixture of apprehension and boredom.

The Luna was drifting in position for a minute or so, with no other vessels in sight. Finally, they got a reading.

Directly behind them...

A D'deridex Class dropped it's cloak some 500 meters behind the Federation vessel, It didn't raise it's shields however, opting for a scan pulse instead. It's weapon systems seemed to be powered down and inactive as it sent a hailing message:

"Romulan Fleet Ship Genorex to unidentified vessel - turn off your defense systems and state your business. We mean you no harm."

"Good old universal translator" she remarked. She watched the Klingon leave and took her own leave, she then trotted back to sickbay, if she was needed. Which she doubted she could be hailed by her comms badge. She sat down on her chair and began flicking though several consoles bored. She decided to see what was going on in the bridge, apparently the Romulans had just shown up. She started buzzing the captain being bored

"Need me up there?" she asked him. She then sat down in her chair, she would have gone and got drunk again. But she couldn't very well be introduced to the Romulans off her face. She presumed that wouldn't be a good start to there meeting, she hoped that the Romulans had better doctors then the Klingons at any rate.

Ensign Flight's knuckles whitened as the warbird materialised on her sensors again, an amber proximity warning accompanying the projected flight path with a mercifully low relative speed. When the barrage of phaser fire failed to materialise, Misty let a breath she didn't realise she had been holding and assessed the situation. The warbird was in the Luna's blind spot, shielded from the port and starboard phasers by her own warp nacelles, a threatening position even without its weaponry systems active; the Genorex's captain appeared to want to make a show of dominance.

@@Raven Rawne

In a flurry of movement Misty realigned the Luna's thruster banks, orienting the rearmost upwards whilst the fore were oriented downwards, prepared to roll the Luna backwards to confront the Genorex and hide her vulnerable warp nacelles behind her primary hull disk.

@@Mentis Soliloquy

"Shall we roll to bearing 0-mark-180 and face them, captain?" she asked, hand ready on the impulse leaver. It might be playing the Romulan captain's game to jump at their little trick, but having them breathe down the Luna's neck was hardly appealing either. Playing it cool was a lot less impressive when you were reduced to space dust.

For a moment after the reply sent by Luna's captain nothing seemed to be happenning. Finally, after nearly a minute of dead air, there came a response.

A female voice sounded over the transmision: "Federation? We though they'll send some more... significant vessel to secure the safety of the negotiations. Hence our suspicions when you showed up." - The massive warbird started drifting to the Port side  - "I've ordered the Helm to station our vessel next to Yours for the time being, we do not wish to put you in discomfort... But I suppose introductions are in order: this is Captain Paveen i-ch'Rihan Rul speaking, commanding officer of the Genorex. Our delegation has been notified and will shortly arrive to the shuttle bay. We are ordered to stay put to ensure the safety of Your vessel and our represenatives on board."

Meanwhile, the D'deridex slowly manouvered aroung Luna to "park" several hundread meters to it's Port.

"Yes captain; Luna holding position," Misty very deliberately made her right had relax, lowering it from the impulse lever.

As the Genorex moved alongside, Misty got a good look at the warbird. Tactical information from the ship's database flashed up alongside it; an assortment of estimates and confirmed data on engines and weaponry, sensor profiles and common tactical maneuvers. Data on its stealth capabilities seemed quite lacking though, especially given its prominence in Romulan tactical doctrine. Recalling Indicus' prior experience with stealth technology, she sent a message over to him.

Look for any distortions no matter how minor and note them Romulan stealth tech is good but not perfect. Secondly once anyone in stealth fires it takes a few seconds for the cloaking field to reactivate.

The Romulan Captain was serious when she mentioned "ensuring safety of their delegation"... Some ten minutes or so after cutting the link, five new contacts showed on sensors, flying from the Romulan vessel towards Luna - a shuttle and four interceptors, with their shields up, redundant as it would seem in the circumstances. The shuttle asked for permission to land on while the interceptors circled about, then flew back to the mother ship when the shuttle was secure.

The vessel that brough in the Romulan delegaton was a medium sidex one, for a shuttle at least. By the look of it, there could be somewhere around five to eight passengers inside. The bird also lacked any and all weaponry, as it was purposefully uninstalled. A notable exception from the norm was the crest of House Rul painted on the side.

The doors on the side of the shuttle hissed and opened wide, and two Romulan soldiers - wearing the usual greay and, by the look of it, too large, uniforms, jumped out and stood to the sides, holding their rifles at attention rather than pointing it at anyone. Honor guard by the look of it. Then, a youg looking fellow walked out and looked around - a junior officer jusging from his insignia. He said something in Romulan back to the inside of the shuttle and moved aside. Finally, after all that show, the Romulan Ambassador kindly showed up. Korak i-ch'Rihan Rul, in all his age wizened, forehead ridged glory. He stepped down on Luna's deck as he looked around the interior of Shuttle Bay One. The general noticed the welcome party and walked toards them, albeit a bit stiff, the junior officer at his tail. Both had sidearms by their belts.

"Jolan tru." - he started, with the Universal translator pinned to his sash not responding to the phrase. He seemed comletely unfazed by seeing a new species for the first time, which could't be said about his adjutant. He smiled somewhat, and continued as the Translator did it's job. "I am General Korak i-ch'Rihan Rul, representing the Romulan Star Empire and it's interests, and this is my adjutant, Suldek. A new species reached the Stars, I see? And the Federation made a new ship too? I swear, I can still smell the paint." He chuckled slightly, then looked back apologetically at his entourage. "I'm sorry for the... unnecessary show of force, my daughter is just being overprotective over old me. She's the captain of the fine ship providing us with some shade right now."
