Lyra Heartstrings1 53 November 27, 2011 Share November 27, 2011 Yeah, I wish people would post more topics, the forums is really boring. There's a new post nearly every hour... Its not very live and active when there's no new posts. So yeah, I just wanted to get that off my chest. (Not a rant) ...And sorry for my bad grammar. FIuttershy 49 November 27, 2011 Share November 27, 2011 Meh, just the way it is sometimes. I've been online checking one of my posts all day, I think I made it too late in the day. This is the best Pony forum out there though. It needs to be advertised more I think. 1 PSN: OtakuMakoto BEST PONIES: Fluttershy | Pinkie Pie | Derpy

Its not very live and active when there's no new posts. So yeah, I just wanted to get that off my chest. (Not a rant) ...And sorry for my bad grammar. We had 866 posts yesterday - for a forum that launched less than two months ago, that's nothing to scoff at. The overwhelming majority of our traffic is American, though, and you're posting at 5 AM PST. 90% of the members are probably sleeping right now. The place tends to be quite active in the afternoon, once people get home from work and school (I see posts several times a minute then sometimes). We get a few new members every day, but if you want more activity, the best way to increase it is to invite people here yourself. Meh, just the way it is sometimes. I've been online checking one of my posts all day, I think I made it too late in the day. This is the best Pony forum out there though. It needs to be advertised more I think. Kurtiss and I already exhausted most of our promotional resources just getting the place to launch with about 200 members on day 1 - from here on out, organic (e.g.: search engine) traffic, word-of-mouth, and viral spread are the best ways for MLP Forums to continue growing. Absolutely anything you can do to get the word out about the site will help. I can never think of any good topics. And when I think I have it's already been posted. Personally, I kinda like it when a topic actually gets discussed to its fullest instead of falling back to the second page and being forgotten when it's only "halfway done". And the point of a forum is really to post more than it is to create topics - if the topic you wanted to start already exists, why not reply to it? 1 Avatar credit: robinrain8 Signature credit: Kyoshi

I hate how the comment system works there, and as I post this Seth is trying a new system so let's see how that goes. But I just got off topic, lol. Klopp 2,050 November 27, 2011 Share November 27, 2011 ...And sorry for my bad grammar. I'd say that your grammar is better than about 85% of the internet's population. So don't you worry one bit about sounding like a grammatical fool. And yeah these forums here are pretty active, considering it's only been 2 months. I kind of like it small though, large communities tend to get a bit overly ridiculous.

Post #100~ Honestly, comment sections are not exactly the best way to promote. It looks uninteresting at best and unnaturally spammy at worst. I haven't had a single member say in their "How did you find us?" field that they found us through something on EqD other than the two roundups we were in. If you really want to help fuel site growth, tell other bronies you know, whoever they are, about the site. Don't make it sound like you're my advertising agency - bring it up in a conversation naturally, tell them something nice about the community, and give them a link. With a little luck, they'll trust your word, join up, and hopefully even invite some friends of their own. Creating something awesome, choosing to host it here, and getting it reddited/slashdotted is another prime way to attract traffic, and unlike word-of-mouth, bucketloads of it if your project becomes popular enough. Don't worry - I have the server resources to handle it. Avatar credit: robinrain8 Signature credit: Kyoshi

I have mentioned it on other boards as well, but not too many bronies around places I frequent. I'm certainly not forcing it out there, but more active users would surly be nice to have. My resources are very limited. Lol, ok I got a tiny laugh from this, completely random thing: See attachment. Swoop 2,278 November 27, 2011 Share November 27, 2011 As previously mentioned, the level of activity on the forums will continue to fluctuate until our members' regional demographics begin to even out a little and spread past Northern America. I'm quite happy that there tends to be a gradual stream of new topics, rather than periodic heavy influxes; It gives everyone an decent opportunity to post their thoughts and opinions and facilitate discussion. I've seen other boards filled with members that hold a "see new topic, quickly slap up a reply, what's next?" kind of notion, which inevitably contradicts what constitutes an effective forum, and diminishes any true sense of conversation. Currently, I'm quite happy to make a few posts here and there, get on with my day, and return to see what everyone else has to say. In saying this, If you're still worried about the lack of activity, I wouldn't worry too much, In good time these forums will become quite lively as new members begin join the herd.

Zoop 8,384 November 28, 2011 Share November 28, 2011 Personally, I've been getting too many notifications. It's gotten to the point that, now that school is starting back up, I'm having to put them on "Daily Digest" That's bound to happen when you follow as many threads as you do - rather than following every thread you're contributing to, use the new content button to keep tabs on active threads; it should cut the number of needless notifications you get by a massive percentage. As far as forum activity goes, there's enough of it that I sometimes have trouble keeping up with everything that gets posted. I'd hardly call that boring.
