According to his family members, Actor Bill Paxton (Aliens, True Lies, Twister, Tombstone, Big Love) has passed away at age 61 due to complications from surgery.

I think I'll go and watch Aliens tonight as a tribute to one of my favorite actors.

I'm very sad to see him gone. I know I hadn't seen him in a lot lately, but he was always one of my favorite childhood actors. Loved him in movies like Twister. Plus, Hudson was always my favorite Colonial Marine.

Heard the news yesterday. Loved him in Twister. One of my favorite films. Pretty good supporting role in Haywire. Last time I saw him was when he guested on American Diggers. 

 

May his legacy live on.

He left a great collection of memorable films behind, which is an enviable legacy, and he will be missed. I'll always remember him, first and foremost, as Hudson in Aliens, but he made every role memorable.

He will live on forever in the hearts and minds of science fiction fans for the dubious achievement of being the first (and technically still the only, Lance Henriksen is debatable) actor to have been killed by the big three of the sci-fi multiverse (being the Terminator, Alien and Predator).

Indeed. Mention a film I've seen him in, and I can instantly picture the role he played. Even when he did bit parts like the S-33 Captain in U-571.
