What will the villain be like this season?

If it were up to me, I'd have an arc villain throughout the season and maybe even beyond with Hydia, Reeka, and Draggle from G-1.  They have some interesting dynamics with varying levels of motivation and effectiveness, so there's room for both comedy and drama with those villains.

 

When I say "arc villain" what I mean is that ideally, they'd be driving either the main plot or a subplot of a majority of episodes in S7, though not necessarily each and every episode.  Maybe there'd be some overarching mystery or goal that they slowly work towards over the course of the season, too.  This is in contrast to Starlight Glimmer's tenure as a villain:  Starlight was in the start of S5 and the finale, but only had cameos in between; I think someone who drives a lot of the plot would be a better implementation of a villain.

Again, as they've said that issues 51-53 of the comics tie in to season 7, I still say our season villain is Shadow Lock who, judging by his behavior so far saying he's doing what he's doing because he feels like he has to, may be shaping up to be a tragic villain, which we've only really seen in Nightmare Moon/Luna and Starlight.

Scorpan, Grogar or another G1 villain.

I was thinking that they could bring back another classic villain from generation one and update them accordingly to fit in within the current generation's mantra. The ideal villain here would be Grogar as he was quite memorable when he appeared in the 1986 MLP cartoon. I wouldn't have him mimic previous villains as that would just be redundant but perhaps he has ulterior motives that no one knows about and that he is keeping his plans close to his chest until the proper time comes.
