Zecora or Rafiki?

These two characters are awfully similar, but the one thing that Rafiki has over Zecora is that he was better utilized, and properly portrayed as a teacher to the character who needed him to be. Zecora, on the other hoof, seems like she was always brought in to be a magical mcguffin (especially with that "Alicorn Potion", during Twilight's Kingdom. Even now, when Apple Bloom is supposed to be learning alchemy from her, it's not really a teaching moment, because more episodes are allotted to the cmc together, or the mane 6 figuring things out on their own. 

Is Zecora ever going to fulfil the role that Rafiki did, helping the mane characters or cmc by guiding them and helping them reach their full potential or answers? Will we ever get to see episodes that put her more in the forefront (especially with Apple Bloom), and get further information about zebras? Will we ever get to explore her homeland, and learn that she has a monkey for an uncle/ mentor?

I would love to get a Zecora episode... especially one either visiting her homeland, or at the very least maybe seeing other Zebras within the show. You would think by now we would have at least seen one somewhere in the background in some episode or another. It is getting to where you are starting to wonder if they are as rare as a Draconequus.

 

But to answer your question... I don't think they will reference any of that at all. They will just continue to have her pop out when it is convenient to rhyme some advice when the Mane 6 are busy doing their best "wut dat" impressions. I would love to be wrong, but I just think they are drifting away from a lot of their previous ideas and stories and going in new directions with the characters. One can only hope though.

Zecora is most likely going to remain as a character who is only utilized when the writers need to have something supernatural explained that cannot be done so through normal means. A shame really as she has so much potential but is wasted as the writers just don't know what to do with her character. Rafiki was better utilized in the Lion King movies as well as the Timon and Pumba animated series despite only appearing in a handful of episodes yet his presence helped pushed the story along and his words while confusing proved to be invaluable.

that makes me sad. It really, truly does. and it's so unfair. There's focus being put on 5 bloody alicorns, with 3 that could probably  be magical mcguffins, and free up Zecora for actual development. Guess the most I can hope for her is her own damn spinoff series with AppleBloom. At least then, they could bring the g1 pony friends back, for them to work with and meet.

Zocora is the best at figuring out the unexplained thing that even twilight  or any alicorn princesses can answer. plus her potions are just as good as them, she deserve her own episode. Rafiki is just the same.

If the writers can't figure out what to do with Zecora as a character, they can't include her in an episode otherwise they would be accused of shoehorning.

Zecora is one of the best background ponies. She deserves an episode all to herself. "THE LIFE OF ZECORA!!!" would be cool.

We definitely need an episode where Zecora gets time to shine. She apparently has many skills and yet, she ddoesn't get to utilize them except for conveniences. I would also love to see something about her homeland, but that is even more doubtful. Zecore is possibly one of the most underused characters in the show at this point.
