Guest July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 I personally hate them. It's mostly because I hate sports in general. What do you mean by them aging poorly, though? Since sport overall is still pretty popular, though I can see the possibility of the fans not being interested in playing games about them. I guess it's sort of understandable. ZethaPonderer 2,201 July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 (edited) Making a video game out of a game that is designed for people to have fun AND exercise kinda defeats the purpose of the sport. There's the competitive side, but that's not what I'm interested at. E.g. I'm playing a video game called 'Basketball' and 'Football'. Why play that when I can play Basketball for real? Video Games to me are fun and meant to be used as a source of escapism. Sports on the other hand are for exercising. I'm wishing for the two to blend together to get the best of both worlds IMO. E.g. TOTALLY ACCURATE SWORDFIGHTING OR TOTALLY ACCURATE ARCHERY . Unfortunately, I don't think the technology has improved on that department. Frostgage 7,981 July 14, 2017 Share July 14, 2017 (edited) Gameplay rarely changes drastically from year to year, while newer games have updated teams and players + additional features, so there's no incentive to play the older editions. That's really all there is to it Edited July 14, 2017 by Frostgage Signature by Lacerna | You should fill out my Johari Window. All the cool kids are doing it. Kyoshi Frost Wolf 42,202 July 15, 2017 Share July 15, 2017 The constant churning of sequels makes the older games more obsolete with each passing year. I really hate the idea of annual releases for anything gaming related. If they could just make one game and have yearry roster updates and improvements to that one title, that would be awesome. Instead, we get a yearly $60-$90 game every year with micro transactions. It is ridiculous. Redeem me into childhood. Show me myself without a shell. Megas 28,135 July 15, 2017 Share July 15, 2017 They spend too much time on visuals and roster updates and...not much else imo lots of sports games are too realistic and just become boring as a result, they need a special flair and something over the top to get me interested. You'll never see me touching Madden or FIFA, but NFL Blitz or NBA Jam? Fuck yeah I'll be all over it
cmarston1 5,964 July 16, 2017 Share July 16, 2017 Because they are super boring. If you want me to play a sports video game, than you need to really work to make it interesting and not just like an everyday sports game.
