n1029 229 October 19, 2017 Share October 19, 2017 RD's personality can be possessed by someone that's either straight or gay. Also, the word "tomboy" makes me cringe.
Lucartini 104 October 19, 2017 Author Share October 19, 2017 I blame this conversation's derailment on the "gender critical" weirdos that made it impossible to talk about gender. How do you think Rainbow Dash would act in a romance arc? http://pokemonvictoryandfriendshipx.thecomicseries.com/comics/first The world's strongest Pokemon... is bored. And so, he decides to take a vacation in Equestria! Brand new romance and comedy comic starring Rainbow Dash and Lucartini! How do you think Rainbow Dash would act in a romance arc? Look, I don't think Rainbow Dash herself would appreciate being labeled "boyish". Part of the idea of the mane 6s' characterizations are the diverse representations of femininity they display. Being prideful, competitive, arrogant and athletic does not mean you act like a boy. I'm sure many of the male members on this forum are the complete opposite of those things. Now, those individual qualities certainly may affect her role in an intimate relationship, but they don't say anything about her overall preferences in a partner. KillerKingBakudan 702 October 20, 2017 Share October 20, 2017 Dash might seem apprehensive about being in any sort of romance at first. But if the qualities of her romantic interest were "awesome" enough (like Vinyl's), and she developed strong feelings for that pony after considerable time interacting with each other, she would have to stop resisting at some point and give in. It doesn't matter who's gay, straight, mare, stallion, or even "boyish" or "girlish". The process would be the same. No questions asked.
Brony Number 42 10,073 October 24, 2017 Share October 24, 2017 (edited) She has a personality that guys would love. First, I assume she's not considered ugly by males. She's not girly, and there are guys who like that. She likes Daring Do and goes to cons. She would totally get swamped by guys. If you've ever been to a con then you know how it is. They would think that Rainbow is a perfect match for them. But I can see her brushing them off and rejecting them. Would she like a mare or stallion? I can't say, but I could see it either way. n1029 229 October 24, 2017 Share October 24, 2017 Yeah, honestly, she has a lot of qualities I'd want in a girlfriend. Self-confident and independent, but also extremely supportive of the people she cares about and a strong desire to love and be loved. The mild irritation brought on by her brief lapses into ego and judgment would be a small price to pay, and she is willing to dial it back when called out on it.
