Bat pony magic

This is something I've been wondering about recently. We know that earth ponies have magic that helps them tend to crops and animals, Pegasus ponies have magic that helps them control the weather, unicorns have magic that they can control directly. We also know that bat ponies are canon as seen in "Luna Eclipsed" and the alternate Nightmare Moon timeline of "The Cutie Re-Mark". So, what would be your guesses at to what magic bat ponies might have?

I really wished we could know more about these elusive equines.

They likely have similar powers to pegasi. I've seen some stories where they have echolocation, but that's not necessarily magical.

I hope we FINALLY see one, AT LEAST, this season. Well, they can fly like pegasi, but I don't think they can control the weather, but I think they have echolocation, and better night vision. But maybe they can manipulate magic by external means

hmm, I agree with @Adderbane in that echolocation isn't necessarily magical, also night vision isn't necessarily magical either; but I suppose those are a possibility. I was thinking maybe something with a sort of shadow magic? Not evil magic that is, just something to do with shadows and darkness and the night. I really wish they'd show us more of them. The only thing we know is that some are part of Princess Luna's Night Guard, and possibly they traditionally live deep inside the mountains (something Faust said way back). I've got a whole head canon surrounding them and their culture, but I wish we could have some proper canon also..

I imagine that bat ponies are basically the pegasi of the night. Weather doesn’t stop because the sun goes down. I bet they have the added ability of magical night vision. And the royal guard ones obviously protect Equestria during the evening shift.

Probably powers like manipulating and literally hiding inside of shadows, walking on walls, hypnosis, and possibly fly better than pegasai if bird vs. bat wing physics are any indication.

I’m very curious how you came to the conclusion that they fly better.

I am not sure what physics you’re talking about, but when I watch bird vs. bat flight, the birds are far more agile. I’ve never seen a bat fly like a swallow.

EDIT: Aha! Found what you were talking about! Huh, that really interesting. Bat flight looks spazzy as heck.

My guess is that they are basically nocturnal Pegasi. So that would mean that they can control weather and walk on clouds. I wonder how they interact with Pegasi. I could see the two getting along really well.
