A Third Grand Galloping Gala episode focusing on Starlight and Trixie

Yes, we need a third Gala episode with Starlight and Trixie.  Perhaps it would be about Starlight and Trixie trying to win over ponies who still judge them on their pasts despite their heroic actions against the Changelings.

Well, given Celestia's reputation of living up the Gala, I wouldn't be surprised.

Seems unlikely though. It IS possible - after all, she was part of Team Starlight during the hive incident - but unlikely.

I must admit to not being too fond of Trixie though - she really is projecting her own arrogance too often to really get redeemed properly, and is holding GlimGlam back.

True, but it was just a cameo.  Besides, we do need to see Starlight and Trixie in Gala Dresses, not to mention Luna and Flurry Heart as well.

Was thinking more that could be a reason for Celestia to invite her - so she can do a firework show for them.  Also an episode hook given the multiple ways a boxload of explosives can go wrong when you have an incompetent but arrogant unicorn in charge of them

I would assume given the gala is at night, Luna is on duty, and she takes her Duty seriously...

Now hold on there!  Luna was at Cadence and Shining Armor's wedding reception and that was at night.

Not sure she was. She dropped in at one point to ask if she had missed anything, but that could have been a flying (literally) visit.

I somehow think Luna would make an exception for family/friends. Something tells me she wouldn’t do that to go to a stuffy ball that her sister dreads every year.

Still, it would be interesting for Luna to attend.  Perhaps she can share in the feeling that the Gala was always boring and wants to liven it up as much as Celestia.  Heck, maybe that could be a decent subplot to the main story with Starlight and Trixie.

Or mayhap Luna could have her OWN gala - during the day, while Celestia is busy elsewhere

For Starlight and Trixie, I would prefer the "Girls trip to Las Pegasus" mentioned in 'Celestial Advice', but I would definitely enjoy a GGG focused on them.

If that happened, that would cause Celestia to lash out, considering that she has a sister who also deals with this.

It seems unlikely anyhow.

GlimGlam has her poor history at the equality village behind her, but that seems to be relatively unknown in the rest of Equestria - certainly Sunburst thought GlimGlam had risen to the position of Twi's student, compared to his own poor performance, and knew nothing about her past. She also destroyed the whole of equestria of course, but only the mane 6 know that happened. By contrast, she was publicly honoured for her role in stopping the changeling attack, by Celestia herself, as was Trixie and Discord, and Twi announced she had graduated at the same party (no doubt the Foul Free Press had a different slant :D)

Trixie meanwhile was and is a bit of an ass, consistently, but not really more than that. She took over Ponyville, using the alicorn amulet, but in balance again was honoured for her role by Celestia.  I can see a fair few ponies from ponyville may not be her greatest fans, but I doubt there is any active animosity there, and few who will know or care who she is at canterlot.

Might be an uphill struggle getting Rarity to make her a nice dress though

I can imagine Celestia taking advantage of Starlight's shaky grasp on acceptable behaviour for the Gala, but at this point it'd just feel redundant. We've already seen the Gala crashed on two different occasions, and the latter, with Discord, probably wouldn't be that different from anything Starlight would be involved in. And if she's just trying to save her reputation, that feels a bit redundant for her character as well. But if she actually behaves differently from most of her episodes, and has a more humorous personality, I can still see potential in this; maybe if they improve on the dynamic from "To Change a Changeling" it would work.

Trixie and Starlight are invited to perform at the Grand Galloping Gala, but when Trixie becomes too caught up in perfecting the act, disastrous results ensue.

Princess Celestia listens in on a conversation between Trixie and Starlight. Trixie says some truth about Celestia is good for throwing these kinds of parties while others have to pick up the slack of protecting Equestria. Celestia no longer in the mood cancels the Grand Galloping Gala or it's going on but she's absent.
