Hands on, new equestria girls

So I got some of the new EQ girls. I got Pinky Pie, Rarity, and Sunset Shimmer. I like them a lot, they are quite a bit taller then the old eq girls so I will have to display them separately,  but thats fine. The quality is more similar to Barbie, where as the old ones where more comparable to monster high. The bending knees and foot pegs are not present,  which I applaud, the articulation of the arms function well and is appreciated. The hair is very nice. The clothing is quite detailed and of a better build quality then the previous eq girl clothing, although it is less stylized. Still the new look is more movie accurate, which I know people here will appreciate.  I also put a pic o a new one next to an old one for comparison. I really like them, I can't wait to see what stylized versions they put out in the future. They need to get some outfits out there quick, play sets too.

The do look better... Still not quite right... Something looks off.... really it is hard for me to say exactly what it is though.

Maybe i just prefer the  minis anyway XD

They are never going to be as movie accurate as the Minis. The minis have that hard plastic hair and chibi form factor, but they aren't actually dolls either. Mini's would be great for your desk at work, but for collecting and displaying their options are pretty limited. The new Eq girls have very manageable, tweak-able hair,  and so long as Hasbro makes with the additional outfits the options with these dolls could be limitless. Don't get me wrong, I do like the mini's and will be getting a few, but they just don't fit the definition of what I as a collector consider to be a doll. :)

Ooh, nice! I really like these new dolls but I have yet to see them around here. You got the ones I would really want myself, too. :D

I got them at toys R Us. I also wanted Twilight but they were sold out. I really like them a lot too, If I had any complaints about them it would probably be the quality of the plastic used on the legs. It reminds me of the $10 Barbies or disney princess dolls I've purchased in the past, then again these girls are only $10 a piece so that makes sense. (sunset was $7.99). I like that they are bigger, I like the new faces a lot too. I'm curious to see if they ever do a rainbow rocks variant, or if they just base the line off of new material going forward. I'd love to see a canterlot high play set at some point too.

Look much better than the original dolls, but I till don't like their faces

I actually liked when they had the cutie mark on the face. It was just more to look at, the new ones faces are a little bit plane.
