A few months earlier....

So I got an idea of how they should pull off the final season! What if in the very beginning of the first episode, it shows a glimpse of the season finale, a little clue of what's happening, then after the opening theme, it would say "a few months earlier" or something like that, and then we check out the season premiere and the rest of the season, and we'll see that it'll all make sense when the finale finally comes! What do ya think about that?

That would be a pretty interesting idea if the show attempted that. If it's something dramatic, like the mane 6 fighting an enemy from a past season. Then we would see something in the premiere that would build up to that villain's return. Sort of how we saw Starlight twice being inconspicuous in two episodes before the season 5 finale. It would also make sense on what the theme for the season would be. I think season 8 is about school, so we will get some school themed episodes. Season 9 would probably give us a theme in which would keep us guessing, or use things that would probably never expect. I was surprised when they brought the pillars for the season 7 finale, so I look forward to whatever season 9 has to offer for everyone.

That's true when you think about it. Maybe they could describe the villain, so as to not give away the name. That, or maybe we get a scene and hear the villains laugh. Something that would keep the viewer's guessing on who the villain could be. Perhaps they could give us a villain from the older generation, or a completely new villain that we, the viewer's, have never seen or heard of before.

Would love to see Grogar as that villain, but I'm almost sure it is a new one.  I imagine the begin like this. Zooming in through a dark castle. Voices begin to appear and explain the plan. Then a very short close up of the eyes of the villain.

I was thinking of Grogar being a villain from the show. Since we did get Tirek and the Smooze throughout Friendship is Magic. The zooming of the eyes reminds me of the villains in the MLP movie. I think there was a scene that had a sort of close up like that, or something close to that description. I can definitely see that type of scene appear. Maybe Twilight and the others overlooking a ruined Ponyville. Then you hear the villain laugh and call out Twilight's name. Then the zoom into the eyes and then a flashback to "a few months earlier."

I also wonder if they would bring the dragons, yaks, changelings and others creatures into a finale. I always keep thinking back to the episode, "It's About Time." When Twilight asks her future self if there will be an epic pony war in the distant future. I know it sounds crazy, but I can't help, but think that it'll happen.

How about using Celestia and Luna's brother, Cosmos, as the villain?  It would make sense to end the show the same way as it began: with a sibling of Celestia's going power hungry.

A new enemy for the finale? Then when are we gonna have Tirek/Scorpan's reunion episode? Just a regular season 9 episode? Seems like it's gonna feel rushed though.

Could be. I wonder which powers he hold then. Some say the stars, but these are infact other suns, so Celestia should be able move them.

I rather have Cosmos for a minor villain then the real baddy. Maybe his righthand?

To be honest, I think this episode isn't coming at all, but I hope it does. It would be awesome to see them reunite.

Scorpan was cut from the MLP Movie which means they're planning something else for him. It would be a complete waste to not do this friendship lesson!

And yet they plan to bring back Sombra. That's just pathetic if they're gonna push away a brothers reunion story for THIS!

I could see Cosmos being a right hand to a possible true final villain. He would still be difficult to defeat, but then the true villain would be a much bigger threat.

I could also see the Tirek and Scorpan reunite. We did get to finally see Starswirl the Bearded after such a long time. It did take about 7 seasons, but it was pretty worth it. It would only be fair for him to make an appearance in the show. Since we did see Scorpan in the story flashback from the season 4 finale.

I guess I could deal with another big-threat-to-Equestria plotline if it's entertaining enough, and this seems like a somewhat fresh take on that idea, but I don't want the adventure shenanigans intruding on my sitcom/slice-of-life shenanigans.

Well, Sombra deserves more dialogue and screentime then anyone else in the series. His appearance in season 3 was really under developed, so he has to make up for that.

That would be pretty interesting to see. We haven't seen two villains collaborate to take over the world in the show before. Maybe one villain could turn over a new leaf and join the mane 6 to fight the main villain. That, or perhaps one turns over a new leaf, but then turns on the mane 6. It would be cool to see a villain fight another villain for supremacy, since I don't think that's happened on the show before.
