general questions Timeing out issue

Wasn't sure the tag, but I have my account based on my Poniverse account and like every so often (I haven't timed it tbh) I get automatically logged out.  Even if I'm in the middle of writing a post.

I have been getting a bit annoyed at this and wonder if there's a 'stay logged in' option.  I've checked the settings and don't seem to see the option.

While I can't give an accurate solution, I can only share my experience.

What I did from the very beginning is to use the 'Remember me' option when logging into Poniverse.

For almost two years now it always keeps me online; even if I'll close the forums/browser and come back the next day - I'm still logged in.

Even if I'll open the forums on mobile; I'm logged in as well.

I never had any issues and I'm asked to log in only when:

- I'll logout manually - then clicking 'sign in' on forums automatically logs me in, without redirecting to Poniverse;
- I'll clean browser's cookies etc. - then it will forget everything and will ask me to log into Poniverse again.

 

I'm using Google Chrome for both, desktop and mobile.

 

That's all I can tell, heh.

Actually never mind, what I had seems to be legacy I think.

After I logged out and in; it apparently logged me in with the new* settings, that automatically log me out after some time of inactivity (it'll be something around 30 minutes).

* new - before the update things worked fine; apparently something has changed, so users, who log in after the update may experience the same.

 

Poniverse works fine; it keeps me logged in; the forums are the thing, that logs out for inactivity.

I'm going to test something, but I'll have to wait some time to see if it works. I'm gonna be inactive for around 1.5 hours I suppose.   Nope, I tried using remember me option on the forums, but it didn't work.

Correct, the forums are not keeping sessions at present. It's being looked reviewed and @DDR was recently pinged by Merc to investigate. When this was mentioned in the #talk_to_staff Discord chat.
