Chrysalis / The Changelings Question

It's well known that Queen Chrysalis and the Changelings can imitate others pretty well. Does this remind anyone of the 1982 film (and it's 2011 prequel) "The Thing" ? (Minus killing and absorbing the host first)  ( Correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't seen the film in a while).  

 

And I wonder if the writers of the show were influenced by the film(s) ?

No. Changelings are an actual mythical creature that I think are like a demonic elf or something that steals your kid and replaces it with it's own that takes on the form of the original child but is very rebellious. I think someone heard this and was also thing of pixies so threw on the bug wings and made it look evil.

That's not quite what changelings are, they are actually far more mundane than in the show. Yes, the elves/fairies (there is nothing demonic about them, it's just that elves/fairies aren't good) steal babies, but changeling only refers to what they replace the baby with, which is NOT an elf or fairy. It's just a magical decoy, it's not even alive. In some variants the changeling is one of their own, but the key thing is that changeling isn't the race, it's the decoy. Chrysalis more resembles a succubus than a changeling, but the shapeshifter trope is nothing new, it's way older than the Thing.
