Who would win a war, Mongouls or Romans

 I'm taking Gehnges Khan era Mongols vs Romans at the peak of their empire

I'd say it would depend on where the battles took place?

Probably the Romans.

Mongols would have a HUGE advantage in terms of mobility and speed, but otherwise it's definitely Romans who would have the advantage. They had ballistae and flaming arrows, both of which could EASILY take down a man on horseback with minimal armor. Not to mention, a Javelin could probably do more damage than the spears used by the Mongols, and the Roman's shields and metal armor would block out most of their sabre and bow attacks, while they'd absolutely wreck through their lightweight armor with their swords and daggers.

 

But, it must also be said that Mongol Mangonels and Trebuchets could break down the walls of their fortifications. But also it must be said that fire arrows would likely burn them up before they'd become a serious threat.

I don't know enough about the Romans to give a decisive answer but I will say the Mongols were quite impressive (if you want to call it that xD). Despite their naval failures, they were darn near unbeatable on the ground and very clever tacticians

I believe That the Mongol archers would  outclass the Roman ones

True, but the thing there is that Romans were equipped with armor (more particularly the shields and the chest pieces) better at dealing with arrow hits and not to mention that Romans were far more focused on their infantry and their throwing weapons, and therefore were probably better with them than the Mongols were.

The Romans would be better equipped against the Mongol's archers, so I'd probably say the Romans.

I'd put my money on the Romans because they have the resources, organization and advanced tactics.
