Help for creating story/plot outlines?

This has never been my strong suit. I've always struggled greatly with doing outlines. So, I'm wondering if anyone might know a good place to start... like some easy steps to start with and to maybe go from there (if this isn't the right place, feel free to move where it actually does belong). Any help is greatly appreciated. ><
