You know what I’ve always found interesting? When kids’ shows make references to decidedly non-kid-friendly shows/movies.

Like that one episode of Arthur had had a parody of South Park.

Unikitty does it a lot. They did a very funny take on the original "Die Hard" movie. While in an airvent, Unikitty actually did a funny version of the  "Come down to the coast, have a few laughs" line Bruce Willis said when he was in the airvent! I nearly died laughing. When Unikitty got a candycane that shot snowballs, she sent a note down in the elevator. "Now I have a candycane too."

In the Bat Kitty episode, Brock, while dressed as Harely Quinn, Suicide Squad outfit no less, called Master Frown (who was dressed as Joker!) Pudding!

Yup. They do that so adults can watch these shows with their kids and not want to commit not alive.

Adult references is actually one of the reasons I got into MLP. I mean, they referenced The Big Lebowski, Dumb and Dumber, South Park, Psycho, The Terminator and even Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex, to mention a few.

The mlp comic is absolutely full of them, i think the first page in the comic has Blues Brothers and Magnum P.I. amongst others, same scene in a later edition has Monty Python and James Bond
