I for one love racing games like Burnout Paradise and the latest Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, all made by Criterion. I dont know what they do to make thier games so good but thier going to do it again with Need for Speed Most Wanted.

This games online multiplayer will be like Burnout Paradise, thats right online free roam with your friends were you can race competitively or toy around with the cops. This comes out october 30th and I cant wait to get my hands on it.

I may have to try this. Hopefully the cop chases will be just as awesome as in the first NFS: Most Wanted.

I can neither confirm nor deny myself being the cause of electrical related malfunctions. Anyways, you wouldn't happen to have a jar of replacement magic smoke would you?

Yeah, I saw the part where the Raptor smashes the blockade, which could clear up a massive short-cut.

I get that.

•Another reborn classic NFS game

•Will be more awesome of a reboot than HP

•Led by Criterion, epic racing game extraordinaires, known for their epic Burnout series pre-EA merge

•As awesome as the original

•As awesome as Burnout Paradise

•*insert list of cars here*

..........there's only one way to react to this.

C'mon that was the final epic pursuit of MW1. This was an Alpha bulid of a standard pursuit. I'm positive the cops will get more crazy than we saw at E3.

Also multiplayer!!!!

A couple of things I noticed.

Those graphics.....I hope they use a performance and graphics engine that's different then the one they used from Most Wanted (2005) - Undercover (2008). It was a great engine for next gen installments of the million dollar franchise, but I thought it was a little bit too iffy in handling, accelerating and braking, a bit too blurry, a bit too shiny, and the way the camera chases the car was wierd. Also the dmaage was lacking somewhat.

The engine they started with Shift (2009) was one of the most incredible racing engines I've played, in terms of graphics, sense of speed, damage, HUD, etc. Handling was a bit better. The one they used in Hot Pursuit (2010) was good graphics wise, and the damage was okay, too. It just wasn't built for a game like itself.

All in all, I hope they use a fresh new engine that hopefully stays true to the franchises semi-arcade/sim racing style. Not too unrealistic, so I hope they don't use Paradise's, unfortunately.

At 0:35, the Carrera has the license plate entry "BU4N OUT", an obvious refrence to a certain awesome series.

Also, what's with the long pause and to black squares at the end?

Assuming there is a demo, I'll try it. I don't have high hopes though.

Well yes. It was a bit unfair to use the final pursuit as a point of comparison but even heat level 3 chases are more intense than whats shown. With that many Crown Vics at what I'm guessing heat 1 (if heat still exists), I just don't see how it can compare. There is no bounty in this build which doesn't look good. The same damage mechanics as in Hot pursuit which I don't care for (not as bad as pro street though). I like that the recharging nitrous still exists however I don't like that there is no car tuning shown. There's no speedbreaker but I'm just nitpicking on that one.

The one good thing I've noticed is that there are actual tracks instead of get to this point in pick your own route. So like I said above, I'll try the demo if there is one, but I don't have high hopes for it.

Also multiplayer!!!!

PC version of the first one has multiplayer. Whether or not it still works is up in the air as I've never used it.

Reliable teh thing with Criterion is game you see at E3 will change drastically before final release. I remember when Hot Pursuit was first shown. They had different weapons(decoy emp work differently) HUD was different and cops took no damage. It was focused on the racer just using wit and speed to survive. Also it had some sort of recovery system. And they toned down the bloom as well.

E3

Post E3

It will not be full out focused on crashing being a big aspect like Paradise was.

One because that's just not the way NFS is planned out, crashes aren't a huge part of the series, it's more about racing.

Two, because damage and visual disrepair is already a controversial area in games with licensed manufactured vehicles.

That's why you don't see real cars in Burnout games.

Even though the game may look promising, I can't really say its promising. I only wish that EA would make Vinyl Editor that wouldn't be oh-so complicated like in SHIFT 2 Unleashed, so it'll be easier to add vinyls and edit them and share the liveries to players for them to drive. The cars are okay, as well as the damage, jus tnot the complexity of the vinyl editor, which lacked the feature from The Run.

They need a vinyl editor simplified like the old Underground games.
