MLP Generation 5 "It's Alright" Song

Hey guys. JMtv here.

Remember that song from the Netflix trailer about a month ago singing "It's alright, right, right, right, right!"? 

Yeah, that one.

So apparently, just today (at the time of this post), the "It's Alright" song was released on YouTube.

Before I get to my thoughts on it, there were scenes that were very spoilery in the video, and if you don't want to be spoiled, avoid watching it and listen to the song on it's own.

When I was listening to song from the trailer, I thought it was some generic pop like any other animated kids flicks nowadays.

Now we got the full song itself, I say it wasn't that bad. I did bop to the beat when I was listening to it, and it's quite catchy.

Although, it can get repetitive by saying "alright" over and over again and left out the "na na na na na na" chorus from the Netflix trailer, but it was decent for what it was. Maybe I'll listen to it again when I'm in the mood for it, who knows?

Cute little song!

I didn't watch any of the scenes, just listened to the song itself.

I actually caught myself vibing to it quite a bit as well.

This one is okay. I do hope they have a little variation with the vibes of each song...not just a straight-up pop lineup.

It's pretty much what I expected it to be, a typical generic pop song with a somewhat catchy tune. The lyrics are just meh and the repetition of "It's alright" gets annoying. Unlike Glowin' up, however, you can actually hear what the singers are saying and it is at least somewhat catchy, so there's a positive I guess. My overall thoughts on this is that it is just meant to be a meaningless credits song that will get stuck in people's heads and that it's not trying to be anything more than that. So while I'm not really a fan of this song, at least it is better than "Glowin up", which is trying to be a meaningful song, but is completely failing at it.

It’s very repetitive and a clichéd current kids movie song but I guess it’s not terrible. Could be worse  Just stop saying ‘It’s alright,’ over and over.

It's ok in my opinion. I don't think it is as good as the other songs we have seen so far though.

Just like the song's name, it's alright. Sorry, couldn't resist, someone had to make that bad joke.

The tune is kind of plain and isn't really that different from Glowin' Up. Hope there's more musical variety in the movie besides pop. I'm not digging this "every song sounds the same" vibe.

Glowing Up sounds like a meaningless credits song too though. Dunno... this killed my hope even further. They're going generic, and I can't see how this will end well for the impact it has on the overall feel. This really may make it unwatchable for me. This is the kind of pop music that I don't mind listening to in the background when I'm driving around, but it's nothing that makes me want to listen up and take notice.

And for those who like these songs, it still may not be such good news either. Going this 'mainstream,' the bigger the names involved, the more likely it is that it'll be impossible to use this music in fan projects, both online and at conventions. G4 was one thing, but this? The copyright hounds will be having a field day. Fandoms have been crushed before they ever got started due to over-regulation before, and this is really starting to look like it could be a repeat of that.

Well, looks like my concerns about the over-use of pop music were proven wrong. Watching the completed work, the music didn't bother me, and I'm very much glad about that.
