"Oh....huh? CRAP I'M LATE!!" Flare Blitz had just woken up on the day Professor Oak was giving away Starter Pokemon to new trainers. Even though Flare had just moved to Pallet from the Goldenrod City in the Johto region and was a little older then the average age of new trainers, Flare was just now getting his Pokemon. "I hope they still have Charmander or even Bulbasuar!! Knowing my luck I'll be stuck with a Caterpie." he said as he ran out the door and started to fly to Oak's lab. When he finally got there Flare saw a few other ponies waiting to pick their Pokemon. "Oh Professor Oak? Where are you? Am I too late?" Flare asked worried. "No no you just a few minutes late. In fact I haven't even given away any Pokemon yet." The kind Pokemon Professor told him. "Oh thank Arceus." Flare Blitz said relived. "So where are the Pokemon, I already know I want Charmander." he said eagerly "Calm down..um Flare Blitz was it? Lets wait for all of the other Ponies to get here first." Oak told Flare. "Fine I guess I can wait." Flare said as he went over to sit down, looking at the other Ponies that beat him there.

Drop sat with his hooves in his lap, his head down, and his body bunched together as if he was afraid the other ponies had some deadly ailment that they could spread to him.

Chall walked in, late. "Wasssss good oak?" he asked the professor. "TIme to get my pokebro right?" Oak told Chall to settle down and had him wait as there were more ponies to come. Chall groaned and sat down with an annoyed, impatient look in his eyes.

~I guess I should go talk to somepony while I wait.~ Flare through. He walked over to Drop and said "Hi there, I'm Flare Blitz. So um...What Pokemon are you planning on picking?" He asked.

Drop continued to look down, attempting to ignore Flare Blitz. After a few moments he realized that he would have to say something.

 

"Squirtle," he said with barely a whisper.

M tossed and turned in bed, not wanting to wake up. A wet tongue made its way across her face. "Enough, Growlithe," she giggled tiredly. It was just another day, so, she decided to go out for a walk. She walked around her small hometown and saw through Professor Oak's lab window all of the ponies trying to get their hands on a starter. M pat Growlithe on the head. "I don't need a starter. I have you, buddy." She decided to wait a little bit before somepony came outside. Maybe she could challenge them to a batlle.

Drop continued to look down, attempting to ignore Flare Blitz. After a few moments he realized that he would have to say something.

"No but everypony will get a chance in just a bit. Lets just the other ponies a chance to get here." Oak explained.

M leaned her head on the wall of the professor's lab. Growlithe nudged her with his head, and in response, M scratched his ear. "We'll battle. Soon."

Devin slowly trotted into the lab. He had been dreaming of this day for a while: the day he finally gets a pokemon. He knew he had to get something good, something that would be better than the rest. So he decided he would get Charmander, the fire type.

"I'm here!" he exclaimed, with obvious excitement in his voice.

"Hello Devin, take your seat we are about to pick Pokemon." Oak says to him.

"Awesome," Darkblade yawned, standing up.

Chall, who had fallen asleep out of boredom woke up, "Yo oak, i gotta head out soon, this isnt gonna take too long right, i already know exactly what i want"

"Ok you've all waited long enough. Time to pick your Pokemon." Oak announces to everypony. "Now please consider your choice as this will be your first Pokemon and it will form a bond with you, should you care for it properly. Anyway, Devin, why don't you go first?"

 

"What!? But Professor Oak-" Flare says as Oak cuts him off by saying "Now Flare you can wait your turn. Please take your time Devin, remember to choose wisely."

Devin quickly answered. "Charmander, sir!" he exclaimed, boldly.

"Hey I wanted Charmander!! Flare complained. "Flare please, you'll never become a great trainer if you keep that attitude." Oak tells him. "Anyway here's your Pokeballs and your Pokedex." he tells Devin "Now Flare you can go next." Oak says.

 

"About time. Well Charmander is picked so...Vulpix should be a nice replace-" as Flare was reaching for Vulpix he notices Eevee. "Hey that's an Eevee right? Hey there little guy." he says to Eevee who smiles and singles his hoof. "Alright I'll pick Eevee." Flare tells Oak. "Alright here are your Pokeballs and Pokedex"

Aquis looked over to the Vulpix that was just rejected. "It's okay little guy, you can come with me!" Vulpix quickly nodded and jumped onto Aquis' back. "Um... okay then. Professor if it's alright, I'll take this Vulpix ,but only if it's okay with you."

"If that's what you want. Here is all you'll need." Oak says as he gives Aquis his Pokeballs etc.

Yo Oak, i want this awesome Poliwag ya got here" Chall petted the poliwag on the head, and the poliwag spat bubbles on CHall's face. "Jeez bro take it easy, im here so we can be best friends, trust me" Chall said looking at the poliwag
