Not bad for my first time. Once you get the hang of it, its quite enjoyable!

Eh, just try not to boast. You'll have plenty of other people praising you for your efforts in this community anyway.

It is, this is just the easy stuff. xD

....... What is wrong? OCD and paranoia must know.

depends on what style you were going for. my guess is that you were going for the show's style in which case there are several things wrong:
  • The eye brow on the right is uneven
  • The hair is uneven
  • The ears are uneven
  • The horn isn't completely rounded
  • The fill on the hair is in front of the right ear
  • Other small details that were uneven
Then there is the color theory, but that isn't vector specific.

To fix these, you need to use mirroring, copy and paste and more pathfinder cuts. <-- that's assuming your using Adobe Illustrator.

I can give you an example of hard vectoring if you want xD

Looking good, couple little things though

-gogglestrap should extend slightly past the outline of the head

-the googlestrap sitting on the eyes must be uncomfortable

-the horn could use some bulging out( see SageWise's avatar for reference

-the highlights in the irises should be on the same side in both eyes

ouch. :(

If you can't take critiques then don't ask and don't post.

I'm seriously offended that you would think that your art would be spotless and perfect on your first attempt.

You need to learn to take our comments for what they are: a way for you to improve.

If you don't then you will never be able to truly conquer vectors like these people have:

conquered was used meaning I finally used a program. No need to get offended. If I could remove the thread entirely I would.

That's not the problem. The problem is how your handling critiques. You can say sorry all you want, but it is obvious that you haven't gotten the point. You don't just run away from your problems. You deal with them like a mature human being.

This is becoming a huge problem in today's culture. Everything has to be fair. Everyone has to be special. "Don't say anything negative that would just be mean". It's creating a bunch of people who can't take criticism.

This is how it works:

You post your image

We offer some criticism, hopefully constructive in nature.

You then incorporated that into your next piece which becomes, as a result, better.

You repeat this till your a master.

Vectoring ponies or anything is tricky business, you should perhaps start from a sketch concept and make sure the sketch is almost completely about right.

It does seem you have the tools down, which is about 95% of what vectoring is about. The last bit is mostly getting the picture you actually intended.

Most notable thing is the line thickness of the ears and how one ear appears to be smaller then the other. It is also notable that the horn is slightly to straight, the base is more of a tall cone on the show, so you should emulate that bit. Of course remember the nicely rounded top.

I won't agree with Bohtty on some vectors being necessarily harder, they mostly take up a lot more time. Depending on the time frame certain things become much more work. And all I can give of advice is to always take your time, never rush things.
