I think granny smith's tale about pony of shadows still have correlation with stygian backstory, let me show

I'm not sure if I follow?

Pony of Shadows was thrown into limbo when Luna and Celestia were still foals.

He was brought back (accidentally) with the Pillars but that happened after Nightmare Moon came back and was already defeated.

If anything, this theory should be the other way around.

Maybe a piece of Pony of Shadows escaped before being thrown into limbo? Or this piece of it is somehow related? Maybe there are multiple?

Like, perhaps it lingered for many years in the darkness and at night until it felt Luna would be the perfect opportunity to feed and grow itself on her jealousy and resentment.

Or, maybe Luna was perfectly fine with her role but every night it would try to manipulate her to think everypony and her sister didn't appreciate her to make her doubt herself? And Luna trusted it enough and it took control of her? Who knows!

When Nightmare Moon was defeated by the Mane 6, Luna seems terrified afterwards. But in a way I cant describe, I get the feeling it really wasn't her and it was something else.

I think we only get the Nightmare Moon story told from the perspective of Celestia, who only saw the evil reaction. Perhaps their first confrontation is where it said these these things like the Pony of Shadows had done with Stygian.

Honestly, they're both very similar situations that happened (Stygian and Luna).

I haven't read the comics but maybe they have something there that explains what really happened canon-wise (since AFAIK the official comics are taken as canon).
