I always figured Rarity is the type that would always be dieting.

The fainting thing is just about being a drama queen.

I know it's comedy. In real life, you should call an ambulance immediately if someone faints.

This is actually pretty comical. 
 

She faints because she is a delicate rose with far too much uncouth or stressful things to handle beyond the capacity of a delicate rose! 

(aka, yeah. Drama Queen <3 but she does it with style)
