Find a topic on something you like, you can search for specific terms to see if a thread has already been made. Necro posting is okay, there’s no rules against it.

Rewatch a MLP episode and post your thoughts on the episode threads.

Post fan art or talk about your favorite ponies in the fan club threads.

Talk about your day on the how are you feeling thread.

There's a lot of open threads here you can interact with, even if the thread is years old. 

You can go to general discussion and pick a topic you'd like to talk about, that's what I usually do when I'm bored.

Just get out there and start posting. Find the areas of the forums that interest you and add your comments accordingly. I’ve noticed that joining in the Forum Games you can make a lot of connections with other members and that might help you feel more at home. There are no set ways of doing things, just try stuff and see what works best for you. It won’t take long.

Do not worry about posting a lot, but I suggest posting songs. 

There are also forum games here, that is a good way to be active.
