If this is true the worst news has come and that Tell Your Tale and possibly G5 have been cancelled

Assuming this is true, which does seem likely: very disappointing. Even as someone who wasn't a super big fan of TYT this is such a shameful way to end the series and potentially G5 as a whole. Just can't see myself getting excited about whatever the next generation holds because of that. Especially If G6 or G5.5 or whatever they come up with to replace G5 ends up being shameless nostalgia bait or some sort of low effort G4 remake.

This is very much in-line with what we've been seeing for a while now, so it's probably true. I hope that the remaining episodes will resolve at least one of the Season 2 subplots. The second special should be completed; it would be a shame if it  didn't air. And if IDW is continuing to publish G5 comics in 2025 then perhaps the comics can provide a proper ending to Tell Your Tale

Well I wasn't really caring about this series any bit anyway, so I'm fine, but there are people here who likes it, so I must tell something, and maybe calm your hearts.

In case this is true, it's very likely that the show wasn't cancelled, after all, the word "cancelled" isn't said anywhere in the text, I would like to remember you guys about something, that it's very likely the production for Tell your Tale already finished a while ago, I don't mean like, 2 or 3 months, no, I mean, a year ago. All the episodes of TyT you got so far were all made back in 2023, so with this in mind, it's very unlikely that this wasn't planned since the production for Season 2 started, if you consider this, then it explains the change to a bi-weekly schedule, as they wouldn't have enough episodes to air throughout at least almost the entirety of 2024.

And in case it's fake, then it would make even more sense, after all:

1: there was that magazine from 2023 announcing that Tell your Tale was going to last for at least 2 more years, that means that we should still get more TyT in 2025.

2: We still are in episode 20 of the second season of TyT, let's remember something, back in March there was a leak showing visual development for "episode 35" and beyond, and again, these episodes were all probably made in 2023, if they are still going to keep the same release schedule, and the text sayd that the show will end in October, then what the hell is going to happen to the other 12 episodes 24-35? Until October we'll only get up to episode 23.

So considering all of this, I think it's very unlikely that the show was cancelled, and that all of this was planned back in 2023, or simple, it's fake.

So I recommend you put your hands down and wait, because the chances of this being false are high, it's just a month for you to see if it's true or not, in little time you will see.

Unless, of course, the show was indeed cancelled, the plans for 2025 plans changed, and the next 14 episodes in those leaks were all archived and erased.

I also discussed months ago that not only the production for the show probably already ended, as they could be already be using 2024 to work in the next show or generation. I don't know, let's wait, I could be completely wrong.

(Also, for anyone who wants proofs and more details about what I said, read this post)

IMPORTANT EDIT

I almost forgot, but do you guys remember how the official playlist for Season 2 had some privated videos in it? So, there are even more privated videos now! It's at least 12 private videos from what I checked, and do you remember what the number "12" means here? Exactly, the number of episodes that should be released after October if we consider that they made up to episode 35, interesting, no? You can go there for yourself right now, it's exactly 12 privated videos, much more than what can be released until October 17.

We didn't get a new TYT episode today. If Hasbro told someone this in private (very uncharacteristic of them to do that rather than make a public announcement) as recently as two days ago, why aren't the purported last three episodes getting released biweekly as claimed?

UPDATE: Turns out the new TYT was just a day late, but Hasbro telling someone this in private instead of making an official announcement is still pretty odd.

I believe the last three episodes can be the specials, as someone already said before, since the last special release had a weeks pause before. I doubt the specials have been discarted at all, if anything, if TYT going to end this october, they scrapped most of the filler/story-unrelated short episodes skipping right to the specials.

Honestly, Generation 5 as a whole was bad since all the progress in Friendship is Magic was made mute by A New Generation (ponies live in fear of each other). It just makes G5 a terrible sequel series to G4 and I'm glad it's getting cancelled. I know lots of fans like Tell Your Tale and Make Your Mark, but this small detail regarding Friendship is Magic means Generation 5 needed to get cancelled.

If it does end, I really hope they release all the content that was finished, because I'm nearly certain they have more than 3 unreleased episodes that are finished.

I hope so, too.

Maybe/Hopefully, in a compilation like they do with Tell Your Tale episodes sometimes.

Yeah, what's up with that?  I was expecting we would at least get the episodes that are finished on the expected schedule.  G5 really has been a mess in terms of keeping with its release schedule.

Well, okay, the lack of a episode in this thursday already points a fail in the information given by that person, but that is also worrying, now we can only interpret that in two ways, 1: this was just one of those random delays as the ones we got early in this year when the schedule was still weekly, or this could be another hint on the show indeed ending very soon.

Let's imagine it, what if Hasbro decided to cancel the release of this Thursday's episode because they got aware that someone is spreading this information without permission? I know, it sounds crazy but let me explain

1: I say this because, well, let's remember that Hasbro already had to deal with rumors regarding the show before, remember that Voice Actor scandal from months ago, they had to give a answer about it, yeah, I know, it was fake in the end, but they still had to deal with it, and it involved Hitch's real voice actor, so this shows that they try to deal with these things, at least some of them.

2: Since the show changed to a bi-weekly release, the schedule has been consistent, there was no month with only one episode released so far before this week, now, why the heck in the same week where they were supposed to release a new episode, but also the same week where this "leak" happened, just 2 days prior to it, they decided to not release a new episode? I wouldn't find it suspicious if it was in any other week, but in the exactly same week where this leak happened? Right when the bi-weekly schedule has been consistent? It isn't too convenient? Just like I said, it just feels like Hasbro got aware of this "leak" and decided to cancel the release of this week's episode because of it for some reason.

Now I must say, this is a bad sign, but again, let's wait, it won't take us much time to see if this is going to be true or not, and I brought good evidence for why this might be false, I know we are in different worlds and you people still care about this show, but I recommend thinking about the possibility that this is not going to happen, it's not small.

Well, episode #21 was released a day late and, unfortunately, the second special is still missing in action. It might show up yet, but there's a chance that the third and fourth specials were never completed.

FirePuppy made a interesting theory about these specials, anyway, even though they released the episode today, still, delaying it in the same week where we got this leak is very weird, I don't recall this happening to any episode during the period of the bi-weekly schedule (correct me if I'm wrong)

Considering that we could not get these episodes, I think it's more likely that they indeed never completed them and that the leak from March could be the only proof we have for episodes that we are never going to watch (Episodes 25, 28, 30, 34 and 35), these episodes being skipped or scrapped sounds just way too crazy and desperate to me.

Considering that the production for the show is fast and very cheap to be made, then these episodes were cancelled back in 2023, with the leak showing what they managed to complete from these episodes, before Hasbro decided to cancel them.

That could imply that the show was indeed cancelled and that we are only going to get up to episode 23 (the final episode supposed to air in October) because that's the number of episodes they were able to complete before Hasbro cancelled the plans, meaning that episode 23 is not going to finish the story.

Of course, I'm saying this considering that the rumour is true, if we really consider that the episodes were not completed, then this is likely contradicted by the number of privated videos in the official playlist, also, speaking of which....

ANOTHER IMPORTANT UPDATE

I made a mistake when talking about the playlist, I forgot to mention that there are repeated episodes in the official playlist, at least 6 of the episodes are just reuploads from the MLP official channel, and not different episodes (I stopped watching the show, so It was expected that I would confuse it, sorry), so ignoring these duplicates, we have 20 episodes + the supposed 12 privated episodes, there should be at least 32 episodes in this Season then, and guess what? They released one more episode today, and now there are only 11 privated videos in the playlist, meaning that indeed, the private videos are unreleased episodes, but let's wait, they could add more privated videos to the playlist.

Also, considering donutmasterjoe's theory about them skipping  episodes, strangely enough there are privated videos in between the released episodes, at first I thought that they could suggest the original number for these episodes, then these episodes were skipped and then they used the number of the scrapped episodes for the released episodes (example: Episode 8 is skipped, then Episode 9 is numbered as Episode 8 in the thumbnail and title) but the order of the episodes in the playlist is so messy that I don't know how to organize them, a lot of episodes could've switched numbers here.

If there's a way to organize and speculate a real order for these episodes then only you and the people in this thread can do it, you've watched these episodes so you can tell if a specific episode has to take place after or before the other because of the continuity and events, I'm not watching it so I can't do it, the only I can say is that, in case they don't add more privated videos to the playlist, and the October limit is fake, then there are only 5 more episodes to be released, I think the privated videos in between the released episodes may never go public, note that they could just be reuploads of the episodes that are missing in the MLP Official channel, not all episodes are available there, some are exclusive to Tell your Tale Official, some are in both channels, so some of the privated videos could be uploads meant for MLP official that for some reason aren't public.

Generation 5 MLP Updates has posted: Hasbro PR rep confirms TYT ending

Quote

In an email to the Twitter user My Little Pony Facts (@MLPonyFacts) on September 17, a Hasbro PR representative confirmed that My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale is ending, and the final episode will be released on October 17.

We have independently verified that this email is real; see below for details.

This means that the only two remaining episodes should be season 2 episodes 22 and 23, to be released on October 3 and October 17 respectively. This matches the most pessimistic estimate that we could previously make.

If the story is accurate then there should be two uploads remaining, episodes 22 and 23. More at the link: https://www.tumblr.com/g5mlp/762223530907664384/hasbro-pr-rep-confirms-tyt-ending?source=share

So, everybrony... I don't believe he would fake something that way. So the rumors are, after all, true...

I can see there will be many people happy about it but I'm honestly dissapointed, mostly with of how much got scrapped. If G5 was supposed to end with TYT S2, fine, but it got totally cancelled, throwing many content and writers/directors hardwork away, instead of just finishing it, making the fans happy and move on. I believe that's a very sad end for this generation.

Specifically, this is what we'll have gotten in the last 14 years.

2010: 242 minutes (11 Season 1 episodes)
2011: 573 minutes (15 Season 1 episodes and 11 Season 2 episodes)
2012: 529 minutes (15 Season 2 episodes and 9 Season 3 episodes)
2013: 316 minutes (4 Season 3 episodes, 1 film and 7 Season 4 episodes)
2014: 511 minutes (19 Season 4 episodes, 8 animated shorts and 1 film)
2015: 665 minutes (26 Season 5 episodes, 8 animated shorts and 1 film)
2016: 647 minutes (26 Season 6 episodes and 1 film)
2017: 783 minutes (29 episodes, 16 animated shorts, 1 full-length film)
2018: 800+ minutes (26 episodes, a bunch of animated shorts, and 3 specials)
2019: 800+ minutes (26 episodes, a bunch of animated shorts, and 4 specials)
2020: 465 minutes (including 47 minutes of Stop Motion Shorts and 1 mini-series)
2021: 245 minutes (14 episodes and 1 film)
2022: 474 minutes (8 Make Your Mark episodes, 42 Tell Your Tale shorts, and 2 specials)
2023: 558 minutes (15 Make Your Mark episodes, 28 Tell Your Tale shorts, and 2 specials)
2024: Only 137 minutes (23 shorts and 1 special, if nothing more gets released)

Which means 2024 will mark the first time ever since 2010 Hasbro will have ever released less than 200 minutes of new MLP content. It could be because of the company's fallen revenue after selling Entertainment One to Lionsgate.

I would've been totally fine with them just finishing TYT S2 and moving on with a G6. MLP's popularity has been declining since 2016, Hasbro's finances aren't too good, the economy's nonexistent right now, and the standard lifespan of the generation of a toy line is only a few years. G5 ending in 2025 in favor of them moving on to something new, I would've completely understood, but what all this stuff coming out is pointing to, TYT S2 being canceled in favor of nothing, is ABSOLUTE NONSENSE:Posey-grimace:
