What are some of your favorite things about the fifth generation of My Little Pony

compared to Friendship is Magic?

One of my favorite things about generation 5 was how more episodes featured side characters instead of just the main characters like we usually saw in generation 4. 

Generation 4 had SO MANY characters we knew nothing about but Generation 5 sort of fixed that by showing us the lives of more residents of Maretime Bay

such as, Dahlia, Windy and Jazz Hooves.

My favorite thing about G5 is that ponies have visible hooves. Most G4 ponies don't have that.

I really like that the Gen 5 ponies didn't become friends because of forced destiny

like, when Princess Celeste sent Twilight Sparkle to Ponyville to have "random"

encounters with the other Elements of Harmony in Friendship is Magic.

They both might've been destiny but I don't see G5's beginning the same way

that G4 told us from the start that "These six ponies are the saviors of Equestria!".

Yes! The G5 Breezies are actually useful and helpful.

I like G5's Maretime Bay beach town more than G4's Ponyville. 

I love G4's cozy Ponyville but as far as "main places" I think G5's Maretime Bay is cooler.

Because I have Sparky in my avatar and signature at the moment, I think now is the right time to go with a controversial one and say that I thought there were things with Sparky that were done better than things with Spike. I like Hitch and Sparky's bond better than Twilight and Spike's bond, the way Hitch raises Sparky is more endearing to me than the way Twilight tends to treat Spike like a housemaid. I also like how Sparky feels like he's part of the group from the very beginning while it takes a long time for Spike to really feel like part of the Mane 7. 

Oh yeah, and that gag with Spike constantly getting abused in FiM was getting old as all heck.  Always been very glad that G5 did away with that.

Sparky is treated more like a family member compared to Spike

who was treated like a secretary.
